Glenbane Air, the one to look out for in the Blanchford Building Supplies Oxfordshire Stakes – Heat 1
Competing in the Grade OR Blanchford Building Supplies Oxfordshire Stakes – Heat 1 are Jacobs Courage, Droopys Chase, Glenbane Air, Droopys Betson, Born To Survive and Ten Bob. The 450 metres flat race on Saturday, 6th October at Oxford has promised
the winner the £150 prize money.
The most commendable entry for the race is the three-year-old black and white dog, Glenbane Air. He has won four out of the last six open races, and even the two that he lost were second scores.
The K. Hutton trained won the New Inn (Lechlade) Dash on 18th August, 2012 at Coventry over 263 metres. The red trap broke into an early speed, and led from the first spot settling the race in 15.96 seconds.
Missing the opportunity to bag the prize money by 1 ¼ lengths was, Oran Supreme.
The third position was reserved by, Penniment Mick.
1st September, 2012 had him racing in the same colour, and taking 16.31 seconds to settle the fate of September Sprint Stakes at Swindon over 285 metres.
Staying by the rail, and then maintaining the lead had him clearing the distance before any other hound in the field.
The other joint favourite of the race, Kilmalady Biffo, was adrift only by a neck’s mark.
Pacific Mile’s son kept on with the consistency and struck in a hat-trick on 9th September, 2012 in the Monaneigue Lady Dash over 263 metres at Coventry. Using the signature style that got him the two races before this one, he completed the trip
in 15.94 seconds. Missing the race once again, but by half-length this time was, Kilmalady Biffo.
Lanesdown Geordy caught up with the third position after the winner.
Two second positions of the three-year-old out of, Hondo On Air, had him entered as the evening’s favourite in the most recent outing.
Back in the red jacket, Glenbane Air fell into an early pace, got crowded when racing in the first position, and led in for the wire reaching it in 16.11 seconds.
The competition was close as he managed escaping defeat by short head’s difference.
The red box for tonight is reserved for, Jacobs Courage, while Glenbane Air, has drawn the third stall.
