Glenn Snyders claims Men’s 50m breaststroke gold – 2013 NZ Open Championships
Glenn Snyders of North Shore Swimming claimed gold medal of the Men’s 50m breaststroke on second day of the 2013 NZ Open Championships in Westwave Aquatic Centre, Auckland, on Tuesday, March 19.
The 25-year-old Snyders demonstrated his astonishing efforts in the shortest breaststroke discipline and proved his mettle for the title. With his astounding pace, he showed no leniency to his opponents and earned his way towards the finishing end for first
position.
With his astonishing pace, he stayed nearly one and a half body length behind and touched the wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 27.39 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Jeffrey Arona-Tuifana’e of Howick Pakuranga, who stayed nearly 1.50 seconds behind and tapped the wall for silver medal with the timing of 28.68 seconds.
Third fastest spot of the reason was obtained by Nicholas Ferrif of North Shore Swimming, who stayed 0.03 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing wall by posting an effort of 28.71 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Nicholas Kahr of United Swimming Club, who was almost full body length behind and surfaced on the finishing end for fourth position by producing a time of 29.63 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Kurt Crosland of Neptune Swimming Club, who stayed only 0.03 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 29.66 seconds.
Crosland was trailed by Shane Smith of Bay of Islands Swimming Club, who remained 0.27 seconds apart and ended his race in sixth place by posting an effort 29.93 seconds.
Seventh finest spot of the race was obtained by Julian Layton of Greendale Swim Team, who stayed 0.26 seconds apart and touched the wall with the timing of 30.19 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Shayne Kiekebosch of Fairfield Swimming Club, who was almost half body length behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 30.61 seconds.
Furthermore, Snyders received massive appreciation from the audience for his gruelling effort while the winners received medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the tournament.
