  1. If Kennedy has a Glioblastoma, the mean survival time with treatment is 40.7 weeks. Malignant astrocytomas are not much better, 47 weeks, as I recall. That is the MEAN.


  2. They seem to be able to arise from numerous cell types in the brain.  Unfortunately for Sen. Kennedy, if he is suffering from this, there is little chance he can survive.  Glioblastoma is probably the most aggressive form of brain tumor and there is no known cure.  Typically it kills in a matter of months.  We have a fair way to go before getting a grip on it.
