Gliulio Andrea Zorzi wins Men’s 50m breaststroke gold – Swimming news
Gliulio Andrea Zorzi of South Africa won gold medal of the Men’s 50m breaststroke on sixth day of the Swimming events at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia on Monday, July 15.
The South African swimmer stifled hopes of his challengers in the shortest breaststroke event as he sprinted his way towards the finishing end for the title. With his notable pace, he remained in a prominent lead over his challengers and emerged on the finishing
wall for gold medal.
With his scintillating effort, he stayed in a marginal lead over his following competitor as he emerged on the finishing wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 27.44 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Andrea Toniato of Italy, who stayed 0.09 seconds slower from his preceding finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 27.53 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Vladimir Morozov of Russia, who stayed 0.17 seconds behind and tapped the finishing end by posting a time of 27.70 seconds.
Fourth best spot of the race was secured by Oleg Utekhin of Russia and Mihail Alexandrov of USA, who engaged each other in a neck-to-neck race for fourth position. Both swimmers demonstrated astonishing efforts in the race as they surfaced on the finishing
end by clocking an effort of 27.84 seconds.
Subsequently, the crowd witnessed scintillating forms of Martin Schweizer of Switzerland and Eetu Karvonen of Finland, who also tried to escape each othe rover the finishing end but failed to do so. They stayed only 0.06 seconds away and touched the wall
with or sixth place the timing of 27.90 seconds.
Last spot of the event was secured by Yury Klemparski who stayed 0.13 seconds behind and concluded his swim in eighth place by touching the wall with an effort of 27.96 seconds.
In addition, Zorzi was contented with his undisputed effort in the 50, race whereas the winners received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the event. He also stressed that he would try to please his fans
by dominating the same at forthcoming events.
