Global Flyer likely to win Handicap Chase
Global Flyer is likely to fly high at Chepstow racecourse where he will run in the Braceys Builders Merchant Handicap Chase that is set take place on Friday, April 27. The action is scheduled to begin at 5:50 (GMT).
The Class 3 contest over a distance of 2 miles, 3 furlongs and 110 yards has £4,549 in the prize purse. Global Flyer will face four strong rivals including Dinarius, Get It On, Spear Thistle and Plein Pouvoir.
The Caroline Bailey-trained bay gelding is on a hat-trick at the moment. The eight-year-old veteran horse elegantly won a race each on March 30 and April 9, 2012. These superb feats boosted up his morale to a great extent.
Overall, the maverick sprinter has won 5 out of his total 25 starts so far. He started his career in August 2009.
Though the brilliant runner does not hold a favourite tag but most of the punters hope that he will be able to make a big impact in the Chase. These expectations are based on the way he performed in his last two races.
Currently, Global Flyer is awash with winning momentum that will help him thrive today. If he sustains his stamina, his chances to win will be as high as 90 percent.
Among the other runners, Spear Thistle and Plein Pouvoir are also likely to perform well in the race.
Spear Thistle excellently finished first in his last start on December 19, 2011. This was the 7th success of his career. The Jim Best-trained veteran gelding has 45 races to his portfolio. As a whole, the talented horse has been a consistent performer
throughout his career.
On the other hand, Plein Pouvoir earned a runner-up rank each in his last two races on March 10 and April 9, 2012. Venetia Williams’ bay gelding has won 3 out of his total 26 starts to date.  His last triumph came in February 2011.
Come what may, success seems to be leaning towards Global Flyer. However, the competition will be fairly close and thrilling. Let us enjoy the classic action and see how Bailey’s gelding manages to thrive. Good luck to all the contestants.
