Question:

Global Warming: A problem or not?

I have a read a lot of different articles, all saying different things about Global Warming. How are you supposed to know what to believe and what not to? I have also heard a lot of people deny that we have caused the problem. But does that mean that we aren't helping it get worse? And even if we had nothing to do with it, isn't it still a problem?

  1. made up hoax by al gore, take care of you and your family live life and enjoy, quit worrying about stupid stuff

  2. Global warming is definitely a problem. Have you watched Al Gore's documentary? You should. That video have all the reasons why we should be very concerned.

Lots of laws had been ratified worldwide, geared towards saving the planet from the warming... but without political will by our officials, it would just end as a law fitted on a piece of paper.

We, you, can do something. Recycle your garbage, don't use aerosols with CFC's, don't burn rubber, limit your carbon footprint (minimize petrol use), etc...

  3. a huge problem!! because  we have caused  alot of toxin into the air witch causes the weather patter to go out of wac and heat up the earth  to apoint were  the ice in the poles starts melting

  4. No .. GW is a scam propigated by Gore & the Left. They are afraid that we will run out of petrolium and they want convense U to save it for them..

  5. Not.

  6. No, there is too much uncertainty to claim knowledge of a problem.  Climate science is notoriously complex.

Even if you believe it is a problem, global warming is not a defense of new government regulation, which would be bad.

  7. We have to know that if the earth's oceans warm up to a high degree, then the energy in the oceans can support a transition to a major ice age. That is, with global cloud cover that lowers our temperature significantly, the oceans will continue to evaporate and fuel the rain and snow storms which will build those mountainous glaciers that cover the northern parts of North America, Europe, Asia, and southern South America.

Now we are a long way from that situation right now. And we may not be in a position to prevent this happening. Or we may be able.

One thing we are not willing to do is experience any discomfort or inconvenience in our own lifetime to prevent having a major ice age if there is any possibility that we may not be able to do it. We insist on absolute guarantees that we can succeed or we refuse to try.

Next, we know we are driving up out cost of fossil fuels by creating demand that we can not supply at current prices. We know that there is more fossil fuel available at some cost and still wonder.  Is it worth going after that high priced fossil fuel if it is part of a global warming problem, or if we may need that fuel much more later. But right now we are arguing about how to get the price of fossil fuels back down so that we can increase the amount we burn.

We might be able to solve the problem of global warming by increasing the CO2 uptake of forests, no not just by planting more trees, but by providing irrigation for forest areas that are dry, by irrigating desert areas to grow trees, even nut and fruit trees. We know that our CO2 is rising in part because we are getting too little water to the trees of earth. With enough trees, and enough water for those trees, we can mop up most of our ecxess CO2. We might however take drastic measures to reduce CO2 emissions.

Whether we are causing a given part of global warming or not, we can put in place changes that can mitigate the damage. But why... The main damage is not going to hit for probably 300 years. That is not our concern, right? That is 5 generations away.

  8. yes but I dont think we haft to worry about it we will probelbly be dead by the time it gets dangerouse but what about the children you know what I mean!

  9. Global warming has messed up the weather pretty badly in my country. When it's supposed to shine, it rains, and the other way. So yes, it's a problem.

  10. Try believing science and not some news story or blog. Here is the problem with the internet, too much information can be bad, especially if you don't know what to look for. Try looking at science only sites like the National Academy of Sciences, NASA, NOAA, AIP and the IPCC. Here are some links...

  11. some problems

    http://multiply.com/gi/ecowellness:video...

In Tabasco recently ,over a million people were homeless over night because of downpours from super evaporation over Chiapas

But it did not make the American News

a few years ago 3000 people died in Europe related to Global warming

The average death toll is 15.000 annually.

the Water in the polar sea is toxic and the meat from fish and polar bears have very high Mercury levels, due to accumulated toxins from the melting ice.

algae are becoming invasive and killing coral reefs because of warmer waters

whilst other forms of plankton are dying out-

So yes there are a couple of problems

  12. The Global Warming scam!

Extremist groups share a common perception about the world. They are anti-science, anti-technology, anti-trade, anti-globalization - not just free trade, but all trade.

People who embrace extremist views and philosophies believe all large machines are inherently evil, and - worse - science is used to justify positions "that actually have nothing to do with science."

These viewpoints are naive, including the oft-stated wish to return to a "Garden of Eden." How ironic, that these same people use cell phones, laptops and jet planes as the main tools of their trade.

  13. There is no man-made global warming.  Man has no ability in any way to change the course of cliimate.

Natural forces between the earth and sun are the reason for climate changing.  This isn't denial...it's fact.  The sun causes all climate on earth with no exceptions.  We can't change that.  The climate trends that occur do so naturally as they have for billions of years, causing ice-ages, deserts, growing/shrinking polar ice regions, everything.  Man's contribution is so mininal that it doesn't figure into the equation.
