The thing just happen this year in Myanmar is that the indication of stronger typhoons and the wild fires are getting more often and the droughts is getting worst, well the only thing that I can say is 'Prepare your self for the worse and expect the unexpected in our daily living. If we will continue global warming to get worst every year expect that whatever your class rich or poor ,we cannot outrun this phenomenon.

  1. yeah, global warming is reaching critical mass. all we have to do to prevent it is live in a home with no electricity, walk to work and stop using the internet, meanwhile Algore is prancing around with a carbon footprint as big as T-rex. How and why can anyone believe this nonsense?

  2. there have been wildfires, and mudslides in the Los Angeles area since i was a kid in the 70's and I'm going to guess before that too. every year there are typhoons in the pacific, and hurricanes in the Atlantic. every summer there are forest fires in the forests of the western United States. every year there is some place that doesn't get enough rain, and other places that get to much. the really amazing thing is that this has been going on that i know of since i was a kid, and i have read and been told it happened before i was born. it's amazing that the earth just keeps doing it's thing year after year after year.

  3. Don't listen to the ignorant 'deniers' on here.  The climate has reached the "tipping point"!   Why do you think that EVERY weather front now packs severe weather with it?  The everwidening parameters of weather records is the proof that the climate is rapidly changing.

  4. Not at all!

Global Warming IS NOT Approaching the Critical Limit!

There is no such thing as 'stronger typhoons, hurricanes, cyclones, tornadoes, etc....

Learn a little science, and some history, and you will soon realize how everything that is happening today, has happened in the past.(Quite often with more force than today)!!

  5. This question is evidence of a very limited historical perspective, and obviously a government education(read public) as well. An objective review of recent history will show that the 1930's were warmer than the 1990's. As another answer pointed out, there is much archaeological history that shows that we are actually living in a relatively mild climate, compared to centuries past. The man-made global warming proponents rely those in the population that tend to be lead by their heartstrings, as opposed to using reason, and oh yeah actually reading history(beyond the dribble that is taught in government schools today). There is a reason that the "climate change experts"(sic) will only predict catastrophe 50 or years out. Because by then, nobody will remember the ludicrous predictions that were made in 2008. But by then, A.G.W. proponents will have falsely led us down a path that will be hard to recover from. If they have their way, populations will be controlled, productivity will have ceased, and we will all be living in planned communities where all can be easily controlled. There could be no freedom, lest someone emit one ounce more Co2 than the powers that be determine to be correct. And that my friend is the goal of the man-made global warming proponents.......keep the population in a constant state of fear.....and keep that leash tight

  6. You can join a doomsday cult if you want, but I think the tradgedy in Burma (or Myanmar if you want to support the military junta) is a result of poor standard of construction resulting from corruption, poverty and lack of resources as well as many of their best engineers being compelled to leave the country to find work.

  7. Typhoons and wild fires are two separate issues and to link them together is a stretch.  We did help the wild fires by not utilizing proper land management. My uncle who  managed forest lands warned of this over 35 years ago, when they began to manage the forest differently.  The typhoon, is act of nature, climate does contribute to this however natural events like this occur and we really cannot stop it.  However we can learn from it and acclimate.

One year of typhoon activity isn't an indication of a trend. As the warmers say "weather isn't climate".

  9. What? There are strong typhoons, earthquakes, mudslides, and even blizzards every year. There are flooding rains and volcanic eruptions and tsunamis, and have been since long before humans were ever around. I'm not a denier of global warming, per se, but the 1.5 degrees that the temperature has drastically increased over the last 100 years is not what is causing this right now. This is the natural cycle of the earth. It's very arrogant to think that human beings cause it, or that human beings can fix it.
