  1. wow, global warming has not been busted. we are releasing more co2's into the atmosphere than a caldera volcano (and that's what used to cause temp. declines and spikes. volcano's and seismic activity) now it is directly correlated to what we put out. the temps are following a trend from the amount of co2s put in the air since the industrial revolution, temps before the mid 1800's followed seismic activity to a t. by the way global warming will cause MORE UNEXPLAINED phenomenas such as temp drops strange weather, but in the end we are heating up.

  2. An excellent question. It is interesting that the concern of the likes of  Al Gore's "an inconvenient truth" contending all scientists were in agreement that global warming in the 21st century was solely due to human activity was well exposed in the U.K. by the excellent Channel Four documentary "the Great Global Warning swindle" where various experts in geology, meterology, world history and other relevant sciences from all over the world surely proved beyond reasonable doubt Gore's rantingss were based on incorrect hypotheses?

Global warning and cooling cycles of much greater magnitude than at present have in fact been occurring on this Planet for MILLIONS OF YEARS before the first aeroplane ever took off or the first electricity was ever generated on earth,  and it did not previously have the various horrendous effects that Gore was trying to mislead us into believing will happen over next century unless we cut back on CO2 emissions. The data revealed by the questioner

yet further substantiates the apparent  correctness of what "The Great Global Warning Swindle" revealed  and the utter falseness of Gore's concerbs regarding 3 degree celsius temperature INCREASE if CO2 emissions are not reduced.

But what nobody seems to have mentioned in talking about "scientists predictions", is that another group of scientists believe a super volcano eruption is certain to happen in the near future. Exactly when nobody can be sure

This could by Yellowstone or else one of the super volcanoes in Japan, New Zealand or Indonesia, But wherever it happens (and it has happened on earth many times before) it would lead to a DECREASE in  world temperature of 13 degrees celsius and what is known as "a nuclear winter" everywhere on earth! So why is Gore so much more concerned with ranting about that "inconvenient truth"of a 3 degree increase in world temperatures than a 13 degree decrease in world temperatures?

Also in predictions for the forthcoming year on BBC Radio Four at the turn of the year, another very excellent question was asked when discussing "global warming" That was will 2008 be the year when mankind wakes up to the fact that OVER POPULATION is the most serious "inconvenient truth" that is happening on earth. If not dealt with, that will have far more serious consequences to our Planet than the most pessimistic predictions from Gore about the effects of CO2 emissions. So I wonder why Gore does not rant about that "inconvenient truth"?

It is significent to observe that the only country doing anything about curbing over population is Red China. The USA, the UK and the EU are doing absolutely nothing to even highlight the problem, never mind taking action at governmental level to address the issue. So why do those answering this question calling the sceptics "lazy" not instead call world governments other than China "lazy" in failing to address that issue? THINK ABOUT IT?

  3. Are you serious?

You think 1 cool month means that global warming has stopped?

What about the prior 350 months?  Guess those don't matter huh?

  4. No one is running around screaming it's the end of the world, but you are being short-sighted if you think this January is anything special. IF you actually follow the link, look at the bottom of the page at the "TLT" graph, you will see lower temperatures and just as steep of drops in the 1980's and 1990's. Nothing new, except the temperature is greater now that then.

I'm not sorry to burst your fragile bubble, because you so blatantly disregard any data in science.

  5. So, in Chicago we are on track for one of if not THE snowiest winter in recorded history for 2007-08. However, we've had many winters without any winter, it seems. I've open water fished every month at least somewhere for a good 3 years. Even with all of this seemingly record snow and cold, there still is melting un the snow. While the ground might be frozen, there's water running underneath. It seems our precipition is like the sky vomiting water, snow, heat, cold, in an ir-regular pattern of epic proportions. I think all of the snow this winter has been caused by heat, not by the cold. The warth continues to rise up towards the north, while this in turn, drags the cold down from up north. The result are massive snow events, record liquid precipitation, followed by fast occuring freezes. Normal or not, this is bizzare weather patterning that we've seen. And, winter isn't over yet. But, look out summer isn't that far away either. What we are seeing is the heat of the earth and the coldest extreme, causing un-seen before types of weather phenomemnon. Who's to say we won't continue getting huge amounts of rain, followed by big snows, over and over until April, May? Flooding ahead should be in everyone's mind or forecast, no matter which side of the Global Warming" debate you are on. Then again, this summer could be a complete turn-around. With little or no rains in the growing areas. This problem isn't about just climate. It is about feeding people of our planet. Then there's the fuel alternatives eating away at our food supply by needing the corn to make alternative fuels. I think our world's climate is screwy, at best, destructive at worst. There's got to be no debating whether or not our climate affects health, feeding, and living areas of earth. Our climate is dictating all these things, if not over-night in some cases.

  6. Exactly.  Global warming has been over since 1998.  The believers just can't let this go.

Here's the data from NASA to prove my point:

    http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs...

  7. even if there isnt Global Warming that does not mean we need to keep shting on the world we live in.

  8. One slightly cooler than average month does not mean that global warming does not exist.

Global warming will actually cause more fluctuations in weather.  Including some colder periods.

And by the way the world really is round.

  9. Dana....if you think 1 month is a blip in the past 350 years.....350 years is a blip in the history of the earth.

  10. Be careful, they might kick you off here, if you tell them that there Myth is really a Myth. Al Gore, are you oouutt ttthhheeerrreee, I don't see you anymore.

  11. an excerpt from a post by Jack H

The most recent attempt to imply there was an overwhelming scientific "consensus" in favor of man-made global warming fears came in December 2007 during the UN climate conference in Bali. A letter signed by only 215 scientists urged the UN to mandate deep cuts in carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. But absent from the letter were the signatures of these alleged "thousands" of scientists. (See AP article: - LINK )

UN IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri urged the world at the December 2007 UN climate conference in Bali, Indonesia to "Please listen to the voice of science."

The science has continued to grow loud and clear in 2007. In addition to the growing number of scientists expressing skepticism, an abundance of recent peer-reviewed studies have cast considerable doubt about man-made global warming fears. A November 3, 2007 peer-reviewed study found that "solar changes significantly alter climate." (LINK) A December 2007 peer-reviewed study recalculated and halved the global average surface temperature trend between 1980 - 2002. (LINK) Another new study found the Medieval Warm Period "0.3C warmer than 20th century" (LINK)

A peer-reviewed study by a team of scientists found that "warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence." (LINK) - Another November 2007 peer-reviewed study in the journal Physical Geography found "Long-term climate change is driven by solar insolation changes." (LINK ) These recent studies were in addition to the abundance of peer-reviewed studies earlier in 2007. - See "New Peer-Reviewed Scientific Studies Chill Global Warming Fears" (LINK )

With this new report of profiling 400 skeptical scientists, the world can finally hear the voices of the "silent majority" of scientists."

    So there you have it

    sloegin says

    Sacred Mother Earth

    Is a no brainer

    Recycle humans

    Couldn't be plainer

    On this gentle Earth

    Humans are a cancer

    Get rid of them

    Is the only answer
