Global Warming facts and info?

Question

I'm a senior in high school and our senior year is composed of a three stage research process. my chosen topic was biodiesel (fuel). i taught a class about how it worked and wrote a research paper comparing it to petroleum deisle in a number of standards. i learned a lot about pollution and the effects on the atmosphere. Also, my science class has been watching "An Inconvenient Truth" which is done by former wanna be president of the US Al Gore. The presentation is amazing. Theres so many factors being effected by the hazardous air pollution from humans. However, theres a lot of controversy on this subject. People say that the warming is natural and the CO2 levels are nothing to worry about becuase so many other natural events cause CO2 rises. If you think about it though, without humans, CO2 levels would be brought down again by plants and trees which use the CO2 for photosynthesis. It's just a lot to take in. Anybody have more facts to consider?

You might look at sources other than "Inconvenient truth" if you want to be informed.

CO2 can be a hazard if it reaches 300,000 PPM - also note it is heavier and 'Sinks' to the ground when no wind.  This means that without wind it can only 'trap' heat at near ground level.

The oceans warming will release huge quantities of CO2 - FAR FAR beyond anything man could ever produce.

Man knows very little about the number of underwater volcanoes that exist under the oceans - or the amount of heat that can be released from within the earth causing CO2 levels to soar!.

This should be a priority for science to determine the amount of heat that could be generated from the earth's core into our oceans - driving ALL the earth's climate/weather.

Of course the AGW fans will DENY this possibility and denounce any research that won't fit their agenda.

One overwhelming fact that anti-carbon footprint people seem to not understand is we are digging up "stored CO2" form 100's of millions of years ago. This "storage" took place when the earth was a different world, (if you think the earth is 6k years old, then there is no helping you). The earth, much warmer and vegetation was lush and very large plus the land was moist and swampy, thus removing the CO2 from the atmosphere. Fast froward to about 2 million years or a little less and we have the appearance of the first hominids that evolved on a much cooler temperate planet. Come even closer to present time at about 25 thousand years ago (arguable about 200 to 100k when we first mastered fire) and humans start the race for the domination and ultimate

destruction of earth. So basically we are no different today then our ancestors of that time who were at battle with nature and did not understand the world around them, so gods were invented to explain the unexplainable (sound familiar?).

CO2 is not there . If the CO2 had increased as much as u want me to believe half the world would be dead. The lower alarm point for oxygen is 19.5% . Below this u would pass out . This should be happening in the lower vallies ,as CO2 is very heavy. CO2 is used to put out fires as it smothers the fire.

Volcanoes!  They have an effect on Global warming.

Plus there is nothing we can do to stop them from erupting.

Also what about forest fires?  How are we going to stop those? yes some are man made, but also many occur naturally.

Yes the planet is warming up and yes we need to stop polluting and start planting more trees, but if we get in a frenzy about this and start freaking out is it really going to make any difference?

Other things to consider:

1.  CO2 is not the only greenhouse gas.  We also have CF4 (byproduct of aluminum production), SF6 (used to insulate high-voltage equipment), N2O (emitted by bacteria as a byproduct of nitrate decomposition), methane and so forth.

2.  Feedback of increased atmospheric H2O from rising CO2 has now been observed (can't find a link to the paper, sorry).
