I am writing a speech about the future, and i decided to write it about global warming and the issues about the warming of the planet.

At the end of the 2 minute speech, i wanted to say: "during my speech.......(something has happened, e.g. a number of ice caps have melted or the temperature has risen by a certain amount, or a certain amount of energy has been wasted etc)

I just wondered if anyone knew of anything to do with Global Warming which happens in around 2 minutes

  1. In the last 2 minutes, Al Gore has melted Greenland with his arm pits.

  2. READ AL GORE'S BOOK- an inconvenient truth

heres a link to a great website that has waste facts- do the math to divide and multiply to get a minute out of hours and years and multiply by 2

    http://www.cleanair.org/Waste/wasteFacts...

    good luck

  3. There won't be visible effects from GW in 2 min, but you can say how much humans have contributed to GW in 2 min, like how many cubic meters of CO2 have been released...

  4. No the Earth won't warm in 2 minutes, in fact [if you can trust the figures, they tend to toss out ones they disagree with] the planet's temp is rising .2 degrees per decade. Yet noone can agree what the ideal temp in a room is, let alone for the whole world. Don't despair... gobs of money from US taxpayers and reduced consumerism will reset the thermostat! ;P

  5. Not much of anything to be honest.

GW is a long term outlook, not a minute by minute thing.

The biggest concern is not is it happening but what % is man causing vs nature causing.

Now what you could do is try and come up with ice of X thickness would melt in 2 minutes if the temp rose by Y degrees over a large scale.

  6. Every 2 minutes, another 100,000 tons of CO2 is released into the atmosphere.

  7. Lighten up dude!! Take some decaf Gunga Din! Global Warming is not occurring and even if it is, you have several thousand years before Antartica melts.

I just read an article that said the seas are rising 0.008 inches per year. Therefore, it will take 1000 years to rise a whole 8". WOW! Run for the hills, the floods are coming!!

  8. There is nothing that you can say happened in that two minutes.

I know you're looking for quick, easy, simple c**p like that, but isn't that what the whole fad of global warming hysteria is all about?

Maybe you can point out the benefits of global warming by saying that in the two minutes you've taken to give your speech, a person has died of cold in the UK, or that so many tons of coal has been burned in order to fight the cold, producing so much pollution -- and that the benefits of global warming will be less pollution and less freezing to death.
