  1. Well i don't think that anyone is right in the situation, but here's my view:

I feel that naturally the earth's climate will change, I mean, the iceage for example was not because cavemen had cars sending gas up into the atmosphere creating tons of temperature changes... but maybe that was part of it.... I think that we do need to treat our earth with more respect, but it was loaned to us to use. We shouldn't not be living because there are fish who are being killed, but we shouldn't use more than we need. it's a delicate balance and I'm not sure we'll ever find it, but we sure can try.

  2. It is a Civil war. The ice caps are melting and animals are dyeing.

  3. The extremist element of global warming is not winning, but is very vocal.  They have crafty planning and elite speakers to back them up, and they did kind of catch the rest of us by surprise here.  But that certainly doesn't make them right.

Back when I studied science if I had put forth a theory and demanded that the professor accept it or else....and there was no way I was ever gonna discuss or debate the thing with him....hahaha...I would have failed and been laughed out of the class.  And I would have deserved it.  Why?  Because that is NOT science.  It's utter b.s.

The same thing has happened here, exactly.  Only this time they say that the sense of urgency is too great to talk about it...just send them your $$$ and if you send enough maybe all will be well.

I say keep your $$$ in your pocket, and all will be well anyhow.  The real question is how much damage will these activists do before everyone learns the truth?

  4. it's because of global warming

the cutest animals on earth almost extinct

    the polar bears

  5. It is clearly a political fight.  The left is using it to try to push an agenda.  There are plenty that really believe they are saving the planet, but make no mistake, it is politics masquerading as science.

  6. While your comment might be true of this forum, that is not really much a indicator of the real world look at any of the questions in this section a high response to a question get 15-20 answers and 10-15 thumbs is high feedback most comments get no more than 6-7 up or down, not really a huge following.

Real world studies of the subject put acceptance of AGW at around 75%. and if the latest research (by Australian scientists) is correct about the increased speed of ocean warming this won't be something for the next generation but will be seen by most of us.

There are quite a few here that post rubbish like "no scientific consensus" and ignore the fact that major scientific groups support AGW, like the National Academy Science, the reply to this is usually 'hoax' they are not listening to their members, this is even sillier as groups like NAS are run by their members with annual elections if they weren't representing the majority of members they would be voted out.

  7. Ask people in Brittany if they believe in global taxes, because of global warming. The tide is turning on global warming, where more people are being informed, and rejecting it as a legitimate issue.

There are just too many coincidences where the global warming scientists have had to backtrack and make up new excuses for observable weather. The term global warming is now global change ,because of the recent cold in the Northern Hemisphere that has set records for one of the coldest winters ever recorded.

The ice sheets have melted around the edges, now its been recorded that these same sheets have expanded. What gives with this is that the environmentalist now say that the warming is causing the cold, and the melting is causing the frozen expansions of ice sheets.

Hey, Al… what’s up should be down and what’s down should be up…

  8. There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

Now, there are some people who exaggerate the effects.  It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.
