  1. we cant stop it, because its not going on.

did you know that this winter is so cold that the ice that melted up north has reformed? yeah we are deffinetly heating up..

it is normal for the world to fucuate in temperature and now and again. this could just be a jump and it should even it self out.

theres nothing that we are doing that will destroy the earth anytime soon. id worry more about the wars and gas prices before i started to even care about the earth heating up.

and besides there is side effects to some "answers" like those compact florascent bulbs have mercury in them.. so what do you think happens when you drop them?

i think people are jsut trying to save money. like the car efficent cars, not using so much water and what not.

  2. never

  3. Already are many effects of global warming  manifest in many places on this planet

There are Natural fazes but we are affecting that to a great extent ,with deforestation ,desertification and pollution., especially air pollution.

A few weeks ago one of NASA's top scientists concluded that the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free within five years, much faster than all previous predictions.

when the north pole is gone , you may have polar bears soon in America ,looking for a home ,

Calculations do not include the accumulative ,speeding up ,factor with time. the increase in water temperature will get faster all the time as well as the melting, when the ice is all gone the deeper cold Ocean currents will stop ,and the drag has gone with it ,also changing the higher warm currents,And only the moon will keep things moving

This will affect coastal climates ,world wide ,almost instantly. All aquatic flora and fauna will be affected, many dying off and others becoming invasive,

And recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests, this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people, died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

All life is interrelated of both flora and fauna, And since we are on the top of the food chain ,

we are always the last to know.

So Global warming has its toll there are incidents all over the world ,

    However

confusion rules the day ,i am beginning to think that SCIENCE HAS BEEN INVADED WITH POLITICS AND HUMAN EMOTIONS

The truth is being distorted at high levels,

And lies have been weaved in.

Some of the real dangers are being hidden because there are no solutions , Public could panic.and Authorities would loose control .

Besides Corporations have other priorities and changes will cause loss of profits ,this also affects the truths being published

Others facts are exaggerated so that the phenomena can be used to milk the people.

This is further complicated with Arrogance that will not admit that mankind could be guilty, or that Gods could be out of control ,unloving or incompetent

But I do not think we can make a real difference anymore to change the tide.

On a Global scale,Humanity is not co operative enough .

The poor regions have other priorities such as daily survival.

There is a lot we can do about being more responsible with what we got ,

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

In the first world countries many do not care or are more interested in Global Control than Global Warming.

  4. Nothing. The sun is responsible for global warming and when the sun cools so will the earth.

  5. You have about 15,000 years before the next freezing period. So live life while you still can.

  6. we can ALWAYS do something to stop it.

we are the ones who started it, we can stop it.

unless it gets to the point where it's too much and we

can't do anything anymore because we were too late.

you can recycle, that's the most obvious one,

you can help pick up any trash you see on the side

of the road or anything washed up on the beach

or floating in the water.that stuff kills birds & things,

you can not buy a really gas hogging car,

you can try not to use hair spray or other things like

that that are contaminating our air.

    idk, that kind of stufff.

it's easy if you have to think if it will hurt our enviornment,

dont do it and if you think there's

something you can do to help our enviornment, do it.

  7. There's nothing to stop.

PS, We've had one of the coldest winters this season. Oh, and don't give me that "climate change" B.S.

By the way, records are meant to be broken.

  8. Global Warming? New Data Shows Ice Is Back

    By: Phil Brennan

Are the world's ice caps melting because of climate change, or are the reports just a lot of scare mongering by the advocates of the global warming theory?

Scare mongering appears to be the case, according to reports from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that reveal that almost all the allegedly “lost” ice has come back. A NOAA report shows that ice levels which had shrunk from 5 million square miles in January 2007 to just 1.5 million square miles in October, are almost back to their original levels.

Moreover, a Feb. 18 report in the London Daily Express showed that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than usual, challenging the global warming crusaders and buttressing arguments of skeptics who deny that the world is undergoing global warming.

The Daily express recalls the photograph of polar bears clinging on to a melting iceberg which has been widely hailed as proof of the need to fight climate change and has been used by former Vice President Al Gore during his "Inconvenient Truth" lectures about mankind’s alleged impact on the global climate.

Gore fails to mention that the photograph was taken in the month of August when melting is normal. Or that the polar bear population has soared in recent years.

As winter roars in across the Northern Hemisphere, Mother Nature seems to have joined the ranks of the skeptics.

As the Express notes, scientists are saying the northern Hemisphere has endured its coldest winter in decades, adding that snow cover across the area is at its greatest since 1966. The newspaper cites the one exception — Western Europe, which had, until the weekend when temperatures plunged to as low as -10 C in some places, been basking in unseasonably warm weather.

Around the world, vast areas have been buried under some of the heaviest snowfalls in decades. Central and southern China, the United States, and Canada were hit hard by snowstorms. In China, snowfall was so heavy that over 100,000 houses collapsed under the weight of snow.

Jerusalem, Damascus, Amman, and northern Saudi Arabia report the heaviest falls in years and below-zero temperatures. In Afghanistan, snow and freezing weather killed 120 people. Even Baghdad had a snowstorm, the first in the memory of most residents.

AFP news reports icy temperatures have just swept through south China, stranding 180,000 people and leading to widespread power cuts just as the area was recovering from the worst weather in 50 years, the government said Monday. The latest cold snap has taken a severe toll in usually temperate Yunnan province, which has been struck by heavy snowfalls since Thursday, a government official from the provincial disaster relief office told AFP.

Twelve people have died there, state Xinhua news agency reported, and four remained missing as of Saturday.

An ongoing record-long spell of cold weather in Vietnam's northern region, which started on Jan. 14, has killed nearly 60,000 cattle, mainly bull and buffalo calves, local press reported Monday. By Feb. 17, the spell had killed a total of 59,962 cattle in the region, including 7,349 in the Ha Giang province, 6,400 in Lao Cai, and 5,571 in Bac Can province, said Hoang Kim Giao, director of the Animal Husbandry Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, according to the Pioneer newspaper.

In Britain the temperatures plunged to -10 C in central England, according to the Express, which reports that experts say that February could end up as one of the coldest in Britain in the past 10 years with the freezing night-time conditions expected to stay around a frigid -8 C until at least the middle of the week. And the BBC reports that a bus company's efforts to cut global warming emissions have led to services being disrupted by cold weather.

Meanwhile Athens News reports that a raging snow storm that blanketed most of Greece over the weekend and continued into the early morning hours on Monday, plunging the country into sub-zero temperatures. The agency reported that public transport buses were at a standstill on Monday in the wider Athens area, while ships remained in ports, public services remained closed, and schools and courthouses in the more severely-stricken prefectures were also closed.

Scores of villages, mainly on the island of Crete, and in the prefectures of Evia, Argolida, Arcadia, Lakonia, Viotia, and the Cyclades islands were snowed in.

More than 100 villages were snowed-in on the island of Crete and temperatures in Athens dropped to -6 C before dawn, while the coldest temperatures were recorded in Kozani, Grevena, Kastoria and Florina, where they plunged to -12 C.

If global warming gets any worse we'll all freeze to death.

  9. recycle, plant trees, dont be wasteful i guess lol save the polar bears! lol (seriously i just thought that sounded kinda funny)

  10. do not worry about this. as humans doubble themselves every 40 years you can not stop this

  11. Look everybody in the world has to pich in so it is kinda impossible.

check out the website with organatiozions

  12. it is happening now. if we would just stop waisting energy, polluting, etc, maybe we could save it . . . but like thats ever gonna happen, right?!?

    go 2 this site:

  13. The argument that "Global Warming" is 100% verified is complete bull... Anyone who argues it is a fool.  I do agree that all should attempt to keep our earth healthy, but at what cost.  Al Gore has disappeared, because even the man who “invented the internet” can't explain how much of the US has had such a cold+snowy winter...

The fact that those who believe now argue that "cooling" is due to "warming" are simply trying to protect their undereducated assumptions.  It would be attune to arguing that ice cream causes people to rape…((Rape incidents increase during the summer months) during the highest sales of ice cream)

Any argument must be dissected and all factors be looked into before making assumptions.  (ie.  All crimes increase during summer months for multiple reasons…none of which are ice cream)

We are in a warm period now. Scientists have known for some time that the previous warm period started 130,000 years ago and ended 117,000 years ago, with the return of cold temperatures that led to an ice age.  The simple fact that we have had some bad breaks as it relates to climate does not prove or disprove “global warming”.  Ice-Core samples have also verified that we have had one of the longest stable climates in recent(last couple of million years) historical past.

    For believers:

Look into solar flares and the history of the global climate…

You will be advised of periods in history such as “The Little Ice Age”

Venture to areas such as Wisconsin, you will note that there are multiple glacier ridges.  Note that the glaciers began to recede prior to modern man (That includes the car!)

Look into the time depicted by the flower “Younger Dryas”… verified and historically correct.

Check into the effect of volcanism on the earth

Look into the formation and makeup of “the great Satan” OIL!  Oil fields were created during times of extreme carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the consumption of such by plankton /bacteria and other organisms.  More so that ever in history…including today.

People must know that those who argue just to argue will no doubt listen to their “leaders” and spew their rhetoric.  Those who choose not to educate themselves before regurgitating complete c**p only make their cause more hysterical.

  14. The last part of your question is very interesting.

Many scientists now believe that carbon-based fuels and other contributors to high levels of CO2 could create an anoxic event in the ocean.

This basically means that the ocean would contain little or no oxygen, as it did during the early Jurassic and Cretaceous, and be inhabited by mostly CO2 consuming organisms.  Strangely enough, these events helped to create most of the petroleum that we are now using to create the current levels of CO2.

Current CO2 rates could increase to the rates of the last anoxic event within 100 years.

Oh, the last anoxic event last 500,000 years.

    Hope that helps:)
