EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

Global warming is real, what is fake is that we are the cause of it. It is all based on a correlation and observation, but it has not be proven, therefore leaving it at a theory.When people point to things like droughts, floods, hurricanes etc, as evidence of man made global warming they make a weak point. It's not like in the billions of year the earth has been around that there hasn't been these disaster. Also, humans only make up something like 5% of CO2 emissions, with CO2 being about .34% of the atmosphere. Alarmist, along with the mainstream media will have you believe that there are absolutely no scientists oppose AGW, when in fact there is a growing number who are, including some IPCC scientists. The American Physics Society has also conceded that there is a significant number of skeptic scientists and that the issue should be opened for debate. Further contradicting the predictions of gloom and doom is the fact that even the IPCC has stated that sea levels will rise 20-40cm in 100 years, not 7 meters shown in Al Gores ridiculous movie.

The gentleman above me that mentioned the polar bears did exactly what I'm talking about. They point to an observation, in this case polar bears going extinct, and makes the logical leap that it proves man is the cause for global warming. We all love polar bears, they're beautiful animals and I would hate to see them go extinct, but to use that as proof that man is the cause of global warming is weak.

The theory of global warming has shown correlations, and observations, but has not proven 100% that we are the cause.

What is fake is that we human beings are the primary cause of it. It's natural and there's nothing much we can do about it. Global warming is just a scam used by politicians to squeeze us for more tax and tell us what to do. When did you last hear of something boring being bad for the environment? Think of it this way: if cars/planes/cheeseburgers or whatever were going to destroy the planet they'd be much more likely to ban it rather than just tax it.

In a few years time when the world hasn't come to an end these dopes are going to look very foolish.

Wow i can't believe the other comments, thats so ignorant especially bringing the monetary class of people into it just shows you are simple minded. Being poor has nothing to do with global warming and the views people have on it. It's not fake, don't be so blinded. Global Warming and Natural Climate change is real, whether it's influenced by humans or natural disasters is the real argument about global warming. It's obvious the world may have gotten a little warmer over the billions of years it's been around.

Ice doesn't melt for no reason, you don't expect the ice in your drink to stick around forever do you? No you know it's gonna melt cus the drink is warm and the outside temperature is warmer. However the ice in your freezer stays cold until you leave the fridge door cracked just a little bit for some warm air to flow in.

Yes, it's a scam perpetrated by eco-hippies who forget that if all the radical ideas they want passed go through, they'll have to comply with them too. I personally think there should be a law passed either forbidding such panic-inducing rhetoric or we should more strongly enforce any laws which already have this effect.

Remember CFCs? They were banned in the 90s.  The claim was, they were destroying the ozone, and would create a giant ozone hole and we would all be exposed to huge amounts of UV radiation and it would probably destroy all life on the planet.  There were other models, too.  Some actually showed an increase in upper atmospheric ozone due to CFCs.  Whatever.  This went back and forth for 20 years.  Then opportunity struck.  There was a huge volcanic eruption in the southern hemisphere.  This led to a real hole in the ozone layer.  People loved to talk about that hole and how we had to do something about it.  Scientists knew the window of opportunity was short, and it was played up hard.  Everyone knew that CFCs were the culprit, but they certainly were not.  No one believed that a ban on CFCs would have any effect for at least 20 years, but we had to act IMMEDIATELY or all life would be wiped out.  The legislation was passed about 6 months before the hole was gone forever.  

Global warming is the same thing.  Maybe the earth is getting warmer, just like there was a hole in the ozone layer.  That does not justify crazy new government controls, however.  Due to known natural processes, especially sunspots, it was known in advance when the earth would heat the most and when it would start cooling off again.  They pushed hard at Kyoto, knowing they had only a few years left where measurements would show that there was warming. Now that things are cooling off, and we see the planet is the same temperature as it was in 1998 (the year Kyoto came out), it is getting harder and harder to keep up the demand for government action.  This only enrages the people who really want action.  They cannot stand to hear their ideas refuted, they say "all experts agree" without understanding themselves, pretend polar bears are dying, etc. (note on polar bears below)  In five more years, no one will believe in global warming, and the opportunity will have been lost.

*Polar bears are dying.  They are mortal animals. Every year some polar bears die, while others are born. You can choose to be sad about it, you can choose to try to manipulate others with sad pictures, or you can notice that the number of polar bears today is higher than it was five years ago and think what a beautiful world.
