1. This would be true if Ohio was the world, here in southern Australia we are having heatwaves, I think that why it might be called global warming?

Edit: So i'm not sure about all the thumbs down I got, is it because you think Al Gore is faking the heatwaves in Australia or because you think North America is the whole world. Or is it just one person with multiple i.d's, what do you think Dr jello.

  2. Believers will tell you that the cold and snow is caused by global warming.

The world isn't going to heal itself. You need to be less selfish and turn off the heat in your home and ride your bike to work.

  3. Weather factors can overcome global warming for a short time. It happened in 1982, 1991-1992, 1999-2000. EVERY TIME global warming came back stronger than ever. Proof.

As long as we keep making greenhouse gases in enormous amounts, global warming will dominate in the long run. It's simple physics.

  4. ruckrover:

The previous record for days over 35c in Adelaide (in march) was 8 it is now at 11 and the prediction is probably another 4 to go, it has also just broken the record for any Australian city with days over 35c, which was held by Perth since 1988.

The fact that the British met bureau announced the snow fall probabilities long before the northern winter snows happened, June 2007 in fact. So it isn't as the anti GW movement like to pretend, a case of changing the theory after the fact, to fit what happened, as was the drop in hurricane numbers.

  5. Yeah, I was hoping for more warming in Wisconsin this winter too, but it hasn't gotten here yet. Below average temps and above average precip.

I am grateful for the extra precip, it means I will be able to get my old two cycle oil burning fish catchin boat into more secluded spots this summer

  6. The British Meteorology Office issued a report prior to the current northern hemisphere winter that the next few years were part of a natural cooling cycle, due in part to the La Nina event in the Pacific Ocean (whereby cold water from the depths rises and cools the air over the Pacific). Jet streams from the Pacific over Nth America, the Atlantic and Europe will all make for cooler wintry weather.

However the British Met office said Global Warming continues unabated as the long term trend and just how hot it is getting will be even more of a shock when the next big El Nino event of warm water in the Pacific takes over perhaps in 2 or 3 years time.

Here in Australia the La Nina has caused the floodgates to open along the east (Pacific coast) ending the crippling drought for much of north east Australia.

However the drought where I live in southern Australia just gets worse and worse. This part of the globe has warmed 1.3 degrees Celsius (not Farenheit) above long term averages in just the past decade.

We are currently in the middle of an unprecedented Autumn heatwave - the last 9 days have all been over 35C (95F) and up to 40 (104F). The next 6 days are forecast to be 38 or 39. Our city of Adelaide was once a beautiful proud garden city, we can only water for 3 hours per week as the dams are so low, and the lawns are dead and now trees are dying.

The thing is the La Nina effect doesn't help us much because our weather comes from the Indian and Southern Oceans - and warming there has meant the cold fronts have weakened and contracted towards Antarctica over the past 20 to 30 years.

Global Warming is a worry on all our minds here. Just wait for the next El Nino Ohio. And remember global warming is a global (not just USA) thing.

  7. It's round on the ends, and high in the middle..

    O! H! I! O!

    O-H! I-O!

OK Ozzygob, I'm less worried than I was about the weather.

Aren't the icecaps melting, though? IDK.

  8. I wish that was true but liberals steal pushing for control and power, this Summer you will see All Gore and his newly owned liberal media and talk shows running strong with the democrats party trying to scare people in voting for them All Gore has millions to make off of this you will see this session All Gore being the Pie Pip-per leading people to the rivers edge.

  9. Wait, give the AGW loonies 4 more days to adjust their models. Once they have reprogrammed the models, then they will predict the cold spell. And they will also predict that the last 9 years of stable temps are also with in their models. They will then call for more government spending and CO2 taxes to fund their programs. After they get their money, they will reprogram the models to predict devastating environmental effects in 20 more years, so we better spend more for their brand of "science". See the picture?

  10. Global warming is happening....and it's natural. Did you see how much damage natural disasters caused over the last 150 years with the 1 degree increase we experienced? We can expect more of the same over the next 150 years. Big deal.
