  1. Don't make me come down there - GOD

  2. I say 50-150 years and they hopefully we all die! I hate humans we are destroying the earth and all living things, it's so sad.

  3. Well, it is projected that the most servere consequences will impact us in 20 years.

AND, in the year 2020 is is projected that we will have such a bad water crisis, that it will make the oil crisis look like a joke.

    for more info go to

    http://www.globalwarming.org/

    and

    http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/

  4. Eons, global warming is hype.

  5. the popular media has exaggerated the notion of Global Warming to create excitement, sell newspaperas, magazines and Television and radio time.

Unfortunately the popular media makes its money the same way the Super Market Tabloids make their money. that is by printing shocking, frightening stories.

the sad part is that the truth gets stretched a bit in the process.

I recommend that you read the professional scientific literature. That will give you a more sober and a more realistic look at the issue of Global Warming.

I recommend that you start with the IPCC reports. (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)

This will give you a much more accurate picture of the issue without all of hype and hysteria of the popular media.

  6. Global warming is an unfortunate reality. While humans continue to add greenhouse gases (CO2, CO, refrigerants, ozone,NOX, HC and other pollution gases) and the human contribution is less than 5 % of the contribution from Mother Nature, this small amount is enough to trigger global warming because humans cannot control mother nature.

The oil Lobby headed by Saudi Arabia makes their living off of Crude Oil which is the greatest contributor to global warming. Note, the Saudis have spent over $2 billion in 2006 and 2007 to refute the phenomenon of global warming thru' their surrogate spokemen like George Bush, d**k Cheney and almost everyone from the Oil Lobby.

the way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is by forcing car companies to increase the gas mileage standard to 60 mpg which is technmologically possible quite easily in the United States and then imposing a graduated tax of between $15000 - $ 75000 per year per non-commercial vehicles that averages gas mileage between 59 mpg to 10 mpg, pro-rated linearly. This is harsh but it will lower the price of gas instantaneously down to the low $20 per barrel days.

Cancer must be treated with chemotherapy for survival and in this cse no matter how badly we Americans hurt Saudi feelings, we must do our best to decrease or eliminate our dependence on middle eastern oil. That will r****d global warming significantly by possibly 1,000,000 years.

  7. ppl are going to attack you and say that it is not our fault. ill stand wit u an say yes it is. Its our fault that its happening and its our responsibilty 2 stop it.

im only 14 n i hav years left. im scared of wats happenin, not jus global warming, and im wanderin if i shud even hav kids because i think that in thier lifetime, sumthin will happen.

       i jus dont know.

  8. We have about four or five years, actually. If we continue our current trends and habits, then it will be a catastrophe.

However, we have the power to change it. We can't fully reverse the effects, of course, but we can try to control the situation by changing our lifestyles and pressuring our elected officials to take legislative action that will benefit the environment and further regulate carbon emissions. We should also try to conserve energy, recycle, you've heard this before. The simplest, most effective way of changing our lifestyle to improve this situation is by reducing or getting rid of altogether our consumption of meat. A vegan on a hummer is even more environmental than a meat eater on a bike. I am not saying that as a vegan I have the right to go out and buy a hummer (like I would even consider it); I am just putting it into perspective.

  9. im 15 and i worry about it everyday...i dont even no if i want kids when im older because i dont wan to put them through the pain of global warming...it makes me wish i was already 50 that way i would die soon and not have to worry about it...it really Scares me!!!

  10. I don't know, but we better get some of that global warming pretty soon because the people who believe in it are starting to look really stupid.  They say it's been getting cooler for the last decade, so now you really need to find a way to warm it up.  Maybe instead of teaching your kids to believe in global warming, math or science would be a better idea.

  11. Phunny thing this time line.  All those "chicken Little's" out there saying that we're doomed.  They are all calling for it to go down in a time that they will not be here.  Good thing, if they're not here, they can not be held accountable for the destruction they are attempting to do to man-kind, capitalism, and personal freedom.  And to think this all started with the anti-smoking crowd.

  12. it is a slow process that can take decades

    depends where you are

we already had a couple of catastrophes perhaps not in your street but other places have not been so lucky

Recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests, this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people, died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

in the last 300 years half of the planets forests have gone

and in the last 50 years

half of our wet lands ,rain forests and ice fields .and 3000 species of animals .

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources and air pollution.

which we are responsible for ,

We are now witnessing a mass Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions, equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs

    .

There is a series that you can download easy ,called

    bbc,Planet earth by David Attenborough.

    About 15 ---700mb videos

this is a photographic team that has been filming Nature stories all over the world ,for a very long time .

In 3 of the episodes called --the future--saving species(this one covers extinction and the importance of species)

the future--living together ,ice worlds ,

they compare films they made before of places and species to what they are filming now in the same places.

Many scientists give commentaries as well .

Whole migrations of animals involving millions have disappeared in only 20 years,

in one place in the tundras ,in just 5 years

CHECK THE CLOCK FOR THE SPEED

    http://www.poodwaddle.com/worldclock.swf

If we want to save ourselves as a specie ,we have to address

    the problems

We can correct most of the destructive factors

with disciplines ,changes of attitude and habits, alternative energies ,sustainable design etc.

All species are in Danger eventually, and each is important because all of Life on this planet is interrelated even if it is not obvious

Imagine that the Eco system is a wall and each specie is represented by a brick

Every brick taken out weakens the wall ,and eventually it will collapse ,which brick is the most important ???

they are all important and we are one of the bricks

  13. Well, I would strongly suggest you watch an "Inconvenient Truth."  Considering that the ice shelves that fell off Antarctica weren't suppose to do that for about 100-200 years, I would say we are totally screwed.  I would say 50-100 before all h**l breaks loose. However, if gas prices keep climbing who knows add another 20 years.  I don't know if you ever listen to Korn, but they have a music video called 'Evolution'.  At the beginning of it, there are slides that state that average IQ is going down.  On average, people with high IQs have 1.5 children, and those with lower ones 5.   Add all this up that the Earth is getting to be a crowded place and that we are killing our oceans, global warming may be the least of our problems.

  14. we are already kind of screwed because even if we start something drastic RIGHT NOW, we still have h**l to pay while things even out.  all of the planes that are flying around create vapor trails which artificially keep some of the heat energy from the sun up in the stratosphere.  when 911 happened, and they stopped flying planes for a few days, some people discovered an unusual heating trend.  anyway, we are still in the stone ages.  here in Austin TX, liberal capital of the USA and they are building a COAL FIRED energy plant.

  15. I have a completely different take on  this question

The earth is a dynamic sytem

    it is used to perterbation

    and life

    has existed on it's surface

    for over 80%

    of it's existance

    there has been a continuous

    thread of life

that has survived through the most catastrophic

    of events

    even

    when life was confronted

by the most poisonaous gas of all

    Oxygen

    produced by the pathogenc plants

    life was able to

find a solution to possible extinction

through the creation of a novel

    enzymatic pathway

    (the citric acid cycle)

and surprising though it would have been to those

    pessimistic prehistoric

    obligate anaerobes

    (if they could think)

gave rise to a whole superkingdom of organisms

    the eukaryotes

    of which

    i daresay

    you are one

    my perspective

    on t greenhouse effect

    is positive

i believe that we will experience ashift in climate

    but

those animals and plants that are most resilient

    and

    able to adapt most quickly

    and with novel solutions

    will

find the earth a more hospitable and agreeable environment

    So

    have your children

    enjoy life

and work towards a strategy which encourages

    yourself and others

    to embrace

    a challenging future

  16. My guess is within 2 to 5 years we are going to really have to pay for the theory of global warming. What I mean is that, by then, the world politicians will have enacted Draconian taxes thereby separating the public from their hard earned cash. They are currently pushing taxes and bad laws onto us already. Their biofuel initiatives have already caused riots in poor countries due to the sky rocketing price of food.

This is only the beginning. Governments around the world are gearing up to extort more and more money from you. Either by direct taxation, or by implementing idiotic policies which drastically increases the cost of consumer goods (oil, food, etc).
