  1. Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

    Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':

    Humans did not cause it.

    Humans cannot stop it.

  2. greenhouse effect. our pollution is causing a thick layer of gases around the earth trapping in the suns heat and uv rays. thats is wats causing polar caps melting and such

  3. bassically, it's too much carbon dioxide. The earth already makes enough of what it needs. It doesn't need us throwing more in there.

Results, the lsat ten years have been the hottest in history, pollution, dirty air, dryer pancakes, piosen ivy gets ithchyer.

    an unconviniant truth.

  4. pollution speeds it up...but really its inevitable

there has been instances in the past of global warming way back in the dinosaur days before pollution

chances are there will also be another ice age

  5. it's a hoax

  6. The reasons are mostly man made greenhouse gases.

The results are mostly coastal flooding, and damage to agriculture.  Those will cost us all a huge amount of money, and make the problems we're starting to see with food shortages MUCH worse.

  7. AL GORE = Carbon taxes is the result.

  8. You have to get out of this Al Gore mind set that we are to blame for this part of the evolution of earth. You people better start opening your minds and look into our scriptures and ancient writings. The Sumerians, Mians,  Inkas, NASA. Their are a Universe of happenings. In 2012, their are no mistakes in the disruption of not just our planet, but the disruption of our Galaxy. For instance: The end of the Mian calender, The end of the Chinese ca lander, The alignment of our planets with the center of the Milky Way, The planet Nibaru (planet X, our 10th planet) is making it's way back from it's 3600 year orbit around the sun, The earth is coming to the end of a 26,000 year wobble. So if you want to blame man for Global Warming. Than your head must be up your anil with Al Gore counting polyps. Send your money to Green Peace and all the other money hungry organizations. These places don"t want your money, They want your Gold! Cause paper money ain't worth the paper it's printed on. Let's gather up the sheeple and take  them to slaughter.

  9. global warming means increase in the temprature of the earth.it's due to the carbon dioxide. CO2 has a tendency to absorbe the solar radiations.due to pollution, CO2 is increasing in the atmosphere resulting in global warming.

  10. Have NOT noticed any DIRE consequences of GW--- therefore NO RESULTS (or effect) ------ anywhere. Not even ONE human has died from GW ---

  11. I personally blame people and there stupid need for energy. And the fact that cars are fossil fuel guzzlers.

    The result.................WE DIE!!!!

we seriously need to change this and before we go to mars or the moon and c**p like that we need to fix earth. I think we need to have a global black out for about a week and then no body drives or airplanes and c**p  like that.........

    huhhhhh Humanity is so stupid

  12. Global warming reached a temporary or permanent hiatus in around 2000. Global cooling is much worse. Global warming in itself is NOT a crisis because it means people use fewer resources - for eating, for travelling to warmer climates, and heating homes. As a bonus, extra CO2 means some plants will grow faster, which could be a boon to World food production.

It is important to note that no climatic state is 100% optimal. There will always be dips and swings and extreme weather. If this causes a problem for you, move to an area you like more or use some technology to keep you adapted. The worst thing for the World is economic crash programmes vis-a-vis Kyoto because these leave the Western World vulnerable to extremist Eastern nations.

We can all be sensible about the amount of energy we use and the way we use it, but there should be no reason for Governments to tax us to the hilt. Technology and research should be allowed to progress at a sensible rate. You cannot force a Green revolution - it will happen when the time is right.

In summation, the crisis is not caused by global warming itself, but the sort of ill-thought-out "solutions" prescribed by Governments (e.g. the recent deforestation and crop shortages as a result of not using sustainable biofuel sources).
