Global warming Glacier meltwater?

i forgot the name for the channels that melting water off of glaciers. i think it starts with an M. and its the water canal things that go all the way to the bottom.

  2. The term is used in "Inconvenient truth".  

    That is, if you are referring to the effect of warming water sitting on top of a glacier in a pool, then suddenly cutting a channel all the way to the bottom.

    This is not clearly a case of global warming, although it will happen as a result thereof.

    It is specifically a result of intense sunlight on a horizontal upper surface of a glacier while ambient temperature is warm enough to prevent refreezing.

    The pool of water absorbs far more sunlight than would the ice of a glacier.

    This effect happens of course only when summer sun shines on the glacier for most of a 24 hour day.

  3. why do you care global warming is a bunch of c**p anyways. this is a cycle that happens every hundred fifty years, it gets hotter, and then drops. i swear some idiot has a stupid idea and everyone goes crazy.
