  1. Oh go on believe the hype, please

  2. Climate change is true. If you go back 150,000 years ago climate changes occurred and the people living there had no excuse of why they made it. They did't make it. We are causing the climate changes to go by faster by global warming.

  3. nope it's rubbish

  4. Your asking about global warming and complaing about recycling? Not really directly connected.

Human caused global warming is REAL, accept it.

And recycling is a good idea if your local council does it properly. Check it out with them.

For those who think humans are too insignificant to cause planetary change, wake up! Even a couple of billion humans managed to destroy 50% of all native temperate forest. Now there are around 7 billion of us. Destroying that much forest cover has had significant effects both locally and globally on climate. (Not per se GW, but other climate patterns). Just 70 years of heavy duty petrochemical industry and certain human engineered chemicals that never existed in nature are now virtually everywhere, from Antarctic wastes to breast milk. Definately human activity can have and does have a global impact. Why should it not impact climate as well? We appear to have almost doubled CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere in just 100yrs, That is a BIG thing! Why would you not expect consequences when you do that? CO2 is the main ingredient in the atmosphere that controls temperature, why would anyone expect that doubling the amount would result in no change? Who cares about the little details? The big picture is clear, human activity is resulting in climate change. You and I are humans, our actions altogether add up and together we make a difference. This is not humbug or c**p but simple stuff that any one can reason out for themselves. 7 billion people is a lot of people and together they create a lot of waste. This has consequences. The planet is not that big! It is a limited system, and we are tampering with it without understanding what we are doing. Given that we have no choice but to continue living on this planet, I suggest that we start learning how it works and making sure we do not spoil it.

  5. In British Columbia, the pine beetle is moving northwards, killing pine forests as it goes.  It only takes a few days of really cold weather to kill them, but we're just not getting that cold any more.  It's heartbreaking to see hundreds of square miles of green turning red, then dry brown.

  6. Globally many indications point clearly at global warming:

    - Global temperatures are measured as rising.  There are many data sets to choose from, but they all show the rise.

    - Glaciers and ice sheets are retreating at an accelerating rate.  In one glacier the rate has been shown to be 42X the fastest rate in the past 13,000 years.

    - Sea levels are rising at accelerating rates.

    - CO2 is measured at the highest level it has been for the past 600,000 years.  Mankind's contribution to that rise is measured at over 32%.  All past natural warmings correlate with atmospheric CO2 increase (as a contributing factor if not always the triggering one).

    - NASA has measured that the radiation of energy from the earth is less than what it's receiving from the sun.  It's not in equilibrium, so something is trapping that extra heat: CO2.  This has been called the "smoking gun" proof that greenhouse gas heating is occurring.

    - Measuremenents of troposphere and stratosphere temperatures correspond with greenhouse gas theory.

However after months of researching this topic in depth, I believe that the serious scientific indications of global warming are being blatantly misused to promote a very dangerous political agenda.  Here's some of the evidence:

    - We're told to focus on reduction of CO2 by developed nations, yet elementary school math shows that growth in the 80% of the world population not covered by all curent and proposed treaties (including growth in China and India) will easily wipe out all potential CO2 savings in the remaining 20%.  The failure of the current approach is measurable: measured CO2 levels have increased in spite of Kyoto.

    - Each person has an impact on the carbon cycle, from cooking fires to heating homes to transportation, yet population growth is never discussed as a factor.

    - Mankind's black carbon soot air pollution, such as Asia's "brown cloud", has been determined to have as much as 60% as much warming influence as CO2.  The removal of black soot takes effect almost immediately while CO2 remains a warming force in the air for hundreds to thousands of years.

    http://www.igsd.org/docs/BC%20Briefing%2...

Yet CO2 is the poster child problem we're told to fix, instead of the easily addressed and proven step of cutting air pollution.

    - The IPCC reports claim that human breathing is a "closed loop" that we should not be concerned with, because that CO2 comes from the crops we eat, which pulled that CO2 out of the air.

    http://cdiac.esd.ornl.gov/pns/faq.html

However, those crops require cropland and land use changes as human population skyrockets.  Clearly with 6.6 billion people to feed today there has been a huge carbon cycle impact since 1970 when we only had 3.7 billion people on the planet to feed, or 1900 when we had 1.5 billion.  Here again the topic of population is avoided, hidden under the disguise of "land use changes", and we're expected to miss or ignore the cause of those changes.

So if a substantial portion of the problem boils down to population growth, and our most effective way of taking a first step would be to reduce black soot air pollution, why is the IPCC focusing so much on CO2, which we can't remove from the air and for which all current proposals result in a global increase in emissions(!)?  How stupid could we be?

I can't help but notice that the IPCC is a United Nations organization, and that population growth and black soot emissions (heavy industry and cooking fires) would require the third world to participate in a solution.  In fact, addressing CO2 clearly requires third world participation as well, but we're told to pay no attention to the guaranteed continued global CO2 increase behind the curtain.  The situation would be laughable if the consequences of climate change weren't so deadly serious.

So to summarize, clear evidence shows that global warming is occurring, and strong indications show that at least 3 human factors are contributing (greenhouse gases, black soot and land use changes from population growth).

However, current CO2-only, developed nation only proposals would be a fool's errand to pursue.  Claiming current CO2 treaties and tax proposals would address the problem is a blatant lie, one which needs to be exposed before we can get serious about addressing the problem.  We have a shared, global responsibility for creating it, and only a shared, global effort will stand any chance of addressing it.

  7. sounds like a bunch of sxxx to me

  8. Follow the guidelines!!!!!

It's all for the good of the planet..Tis very crucial we all play our part to save the planet.recycling...otherwise one day there'll be nowhere left to dump our refuge.

Yes we need to look after our planet for the future generations

    benefit.

  9. It does exist.  You think the world's climates haven't changed in the many, many years the Earth has been in existence?  Also, you are aware that the Earth's axis wasn't always tilted as it is now?  Do some research into the history of the Earth.

  10. Anyone remember the Ice Age ???Its a process of nature, you cant stop it

Heating up or icing over, its gonna do it anyway, whether you recycle or not.

    But its good to recycle.

  11. The Bush Administration says its true.

"Several lines of evidence, including those outlined in the following sections, point to a strong human influence on climate."

  12. Why even ask the question you have made up your mind and will only believe what people ,who agree with you, say.

So just in case you really want to know which i seriously doubt

    here goes

    http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/glo...

    .

    check this interactive globe

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources , air pollution,Non sustainable Agriculture, over pumping carbon aquifers

all concepts which are definitely not part of the Natural Processes of the Natural world

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

    WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR,

The most prolific growth on this planet is part of the day in the mist and most of the time under clouds ,and the least growth is always directly in the sun .

To exchange the one for the other means changing local climates

We are exchanging Nature with Tar , concrete and open spaced mono cultures.

In 300 years half of the planets forests have gone ,and in the last 50 years half of the wet lands ,and rain forests

These Areas absorb heat during the day and release heat at night ,

Cause cloud formation(shade).humidifying the air on the surface as well as releasing excess water at the roots that keep rivers flowing ,which in turn brings more water into the Environment .

As well as contributing to absorbing carbon emissions as do the leaves of the trees together with the oceans .

All in all many factors which directly affect the local Environment .

The loss of the above resulting in rivers drying up ,less rain ,desertification, loss of habitat for many species and so on.

dryer and hotter surface environments which can manifest in different weather patterns such as tornadoes or bush fires

I may be stupid or Naive but somehow i believe that lots of these local environmental changes, can add up to affect global weather, If there are enough of them (and there are)

And then on top of that comes the story of the effects of pollutants released into Nature and especially the Air ,by MAN http://earthissues.multiply.com/photos/a...

A cocktail of events and a lot of the ingredients have MAN written all over them

So it is safe to assume that we should look at ourselves ,just a teeny bit ,for possible improvements ,and rectifying Eco errors that are with in our powers.

    What is a safer bet

to be or not to be

  13. You're complaining about recycling, why?  You would rather just put it all in landfills?

Whether global warming is a serious issue or not, recycling is a good idea.

  14. Climate change does exist the question is what is responsible for it, is it a natural occurrence or is it down to humans.? All the independent  evidence suggests it's a natural occurrence that Governments have seized on to control the masses..It's all about control

  15. in california our politicians are trying to put a $.25 tax on plastic and paper bags because they are only finding 6% in the landfills and want the percenage to be much higher...recycled... i use grocery bags several times and save them up... i probably have hundreds...maybe thousands... i am hoarding plastic bags...

it is all a money making scam.......

the only person that is consious of doing anything productive is Ed Bagley Jr... that guy has it right...we need to find more energy efficient ways to live for the long term...

but all the carbon offsetting and subsidizing christmas tree growers and lumber tree growers to plant trees they would normally plant anyway is silly...why "intelligent" people do not see it as a scam and not in an uproar over it is beyond me....unless they have a "financial investment stake" in the scheme....

Al Gore and our planet has a fever......$30,000 utility bill for one home...(he has several)

John Travolta, another climate whiner.....has large jet hangers and several runways at his private estate.....http://www.johntravoltashouse.com/

  16. Responding to "do history on earth".  Well, let's take it from the top.  There have always been periods of heating and cooling throughout our history.  Even before there was man.  Plus, the tiny little activities that we do daily does not bother the Earth.  The Ice caps are not melting, recent population records show polar bears our over-population.  And if there is global warming, then why are there still hurricanes?  Also the hole in the ozone, it comes and goes periodically, it keeps the planet in balance.  Any questions from anyone, email me.  It is a bunch of junk.

  17. It's not true but just like 'The Emporer's New Clothes',   the nut jobs that are touting climate change know that the emperor is naked but their jobs and lives depend on going along with the ruse...
