  1. There are many credible Scientist saying that the warming that has occurred is within the normal cycle of warming and cooling . there was a report of one place where a glacier had retreated and man made artifacts were found indicating that there had been people living there in the past before the glacier covered it

The claim that it is man made has turned out to be the most comprehensive ,most successful Global marketing campaign in history. Think of all the new products that have been developed or old products repackaged as green and sold at higher prices to combat "Global Warming".

Big Business is loving it. They will do whatever it takes to prolong the Hype.

You may not have heard about it ,but an international conference on Climate Change was held in New York last week ,The media sent one reporter to cover it , it included some of the Scientist that were fighting to have their name removed from the IPCC report because they didn't agree with the IPCC conclusions.

  3. Fact. Anyone can see it, but no one wants to.

  4. Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live 100% off of the grid and are completely self-sufficient with a 0% Carbon footprint. I believe this is the first step anyone can make “help the environment”. Once you convert your own life style to a greener more eco friendly route, you can start helping others.

We definitely didn't start global warming, but we definitely do contribute to it now.

Natural gas (or Methane along with other thanes) for example, is completely a natural contributer to global warming and is derived pretty much the same way as oil. ie. Matter (animal, plant etc) decomposes over time resulting in a anaerobic (hope I spelled that right) decay of non-fossil organic material / gas (natural gas or methane).

One problem with global warming is that the concept is so vague in the minds of the people. The critical interpretation is basically how it’s explained in school and the news. However most of the public see global warming connected with the ozone and pollutants which cause harmful greenhouse gasses, etc. therefore investigating and fighting for things like alternative energy (ie. Solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel, etc)

Greenhouse gases are real and do contribute to global warming. Think of the different gas layers like ozone (o3) that circumference the globe as the clear plastic on a greenhouse. Longer rays of light from the Sun go in and reflect off different thermal masses bouncing back and creating shorter lengths of energy that cannot exist the plastic barrier. These beams then just continue to bounce around inside the green house until they’re finally absorbed completely (some do escape but very few), thereby warming the greenhouse greatly even in cold temperatures.

Basically there are 2 ways that this reaction (or lack of) affects the planet. Global warming and global cooling.

    1. as we add to the gases in the stratosphere, where the ozone layer is (Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc), we add to the plastic of the greenhouse, trapping more short wave length energy and heating the earth more.

    2. as we deplete the ozone (with chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs), we allow more long wave length energy, which bounces back out to space without heating any thermal masses on earth, thereby cooling the planet.

It’s pretty easy to see the results..

    Melting ice sheets & glaciers

    Floods & droughts

    Great hurricanes & cyclones

    Seasonal extremes

    Seasonal phenomena’s

    Species extinction

    New & resurgent diseases

There are many ways to stop both global warming and cooling from accruing or at least slow them down until we can discover a way to reverse it, but Stop burning fossil fuels is the biggest.

I currently own 2 converted h2 vehicles which run on 100% hydrogen and 1 EV (electric vehicle), not to mention our home is completely off the grid, using alternative energy (solar, wind, etc)

  5. the world is getting hotter. Fact.

  6. It has to be fact, the weather patterns are just not normal. anymore

  7. FALSE. This yr was the coldest and heavyest snow packs up in the artic and all over the northern regions, just investigate and read and u will learn that the warming is just a natural cycle......I do not read books or articles written by people who really do not know the real science studies and the cycles of the  earth.... any one can write {their opinion} and that does not mean that  it is correct. check things out for your self....

  8. No doubt about it, it's a FACT.

The earth keeps getting warmer, and everything is being thrown off balance.  We are losing species, getting extreme weather, and won't be able to survive on this earth for much longer if we don't do something about it.

I think that politicians need to stop avoiding this issue, because it is real, and they need to direct us to a change for the better.

  9. False. I have seen the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" but I also saw "The Great Global Warming Swindle" and also read up on stuff and I say that it is false.

  10. It is a fact. If you are a Christan and you read the Holy Bible it will tell you around in the new testament (Hebrew or Revaluation or something else I can't remember). And Al Gore is right.

  11. Fiction for sure. This is just a way to keep money in gore's bank account.

  12. It is a major truth. Don't believe me just check the weather!!

  13. Global warming?  What is normal?  The only "fact" we know is that the temperatures change all of the time.  The warmest temperatures on record were in the 1930's.  Remember the dust bowl era.  Did humans cause this?  I don't think so.  There was a mini ice age in the 16 and 1700's.  Thankfully the earth has warmed since then and crop yeilds are better.

There is a body of evidence coming out that demonstrates no statisitical correlation between mans activities and global temps.  It appears that CO2 is an effect of global warming and not the cause.  It is looking like the sun is the boogey man.  Temperatures dropped significantly in the past year just as some had predicted who believe the sun is the driver.  There models appear to be correct.  The models predicting runaway temps based on C02 prediction appear to be failing.

  14. Let's pretend that I am wrong.

    Okay.  Now what?

Does it pay to conserve energy, especially the fossil fuels that are definitely limited and depleting?

Does it pay to avoid plastics as much as possible?

Does it pay to try and find other alternatives that one day will wean us off fossil fuels, all deadly derivatives from oil which is killing our people in uniform, let alone killing our budgets and environment?

Does it pay to monitor the goings-on of major corporate polluters responsible for making our planet less inhabitable and causing people to get cancers?

Does it pay to use no pesticides or other caustic poisons on our soil that winds up polluting streams and coastal areas?

If we can come to a reasonable conclusion, everyone (all 6.4 billion people on earth presently), then maybe we have a shot at preserving all parts of earth instead of fighting each other  for habitable land.

To debate the whether or not issue is a waste of time and energy.

To do something which helps our economy as well as makes earth wholesome again would be the right course of action, but requires everyone acting in concert.

    Will that day ever arrive?

Got to go now, it's coming up stormy outside!

    Twelve hours later.......

Curious to see what "Aqua-Luna" had to say, I ventured towards his web site only to be receiving flashing warnings of potential threats of pfishing.

I did get to read some of the information provided there, and it seemed too good to be true.

For instance, how can you go from $500.00 per month energy expense to 0?

Then I noticed his wording was amateurish.

I don't need ten points for bringing this up, but I do want to reiterate that there is no organized movement I can think of that embodies all I've outlined above to the extent of getting everyone involved to save earth.

What we have instead are splinter groups and bandaids and quick fixes, because the powers that be (mostly the corporations) prefer to have it this way.

The only way out of this mess would be starting new corporations that will profit from the mistakes of old corporations, thereby getting more and more peoiple involved and on the right path.

Beating around on the subject of whether or not there in fact is a global warming crisis is just delaying this cause.

Begin now by opting for products from green companies, but beware scamers abound.

  15. There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

We know it's warming, and we've measured how much:

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...

Scientists have a good idea how the Sun and the Earth's natural cycles and volcanoes and all those natural effects change the global climate, so they've gone back and checked to see if they could be responsible for the current global warming.  What they found is:

Over the past 30 years, all solar effects on the global climate have been in the direction of (slight) cooling, not warming.  This is during a very rapid period of global warming.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/62902...

    http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/media/pro...

So the Sun certainly isn't a large factor in the current warming.  They've also looked at natural cycles, and found that we should be in the middle of a cooling period right now.

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitc...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/ab...

So it's definitely not the Earth's natural cycles.  They looked at volcanoes, and found that

    a) volcanoes cause more global cooling than warming, because the particles they emit block sunlight

    b) humans emit over 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes annually

    http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/Gases/man....

So it's certainly not due to volcanoes.  Then they looked at human greenhouse gas emissions.  We know how much atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased over the past 50 years:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mauna...

And we know from isotope ratios that this increase is due entirely to human emissions from burning fossil fuels.  We know how much of a greenhouse effect these gases like carbon dioxide have, and the increase we've seen is enough to have caused almost all of the warming we've seen over the past 30 years (about 80-90%).  You can see a model of the various factors over the past century here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Clima...

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.
