Global warming fundraiser idea? would this work?

Question

i was thinking what if we got a way to shut down a highway for a day and had a long walk/run to help raise money for global warming. this would help because then people would have to take the back roads which saves more money and even with that people wouldnt even want to get out because it would take longer to get places and we could raise money like $20 to walk

if they used like a major highway.

and we could schedule it a yaer ahead. i think it could work and help the planet?

how would taking a back road save more money?? when its probly an even longer drive for people in return using more gas and releasinf more fumes into the air.

people wouldnt want to get out of where??? i doubt they would shut down a major highway thatll just cause **** loads of traffic in certain parts of the city.  

its a good hting to think about but no i dont think itll work..POSSIBLY a fund raiser will work but not with shutting down a high way.

What you propose would make thousands of people late for work and cost tens of thousands of dollars.  It could even cause accidents in traffic that claim lives.

I am far from convinced that there is any significant warming of the earth being caused by man or our technology.  If you think there is, I suggest you focus your efforts on trying to support new technology to foster a win-win result.  The way forward is not to deprive people from getting to work.  The way forward is to provide new, better ways for people to get to work.

Did you stop to think of the poor single mother that has to use that highway to get from one job to another. Did you think of all the pain that could cause in other peoples lives? I did not think so. You seem very self centered to me.

Please do not misunderstand what I’m saying. I fully support the very "conservative" concept of being good stewards of the earth. But I cannot sit by silently as Al Gore and the Climate Alarmists push a massive taxing scheme on us that will have little or no real effect on the alleged problem of rising CO2 emissions.

Especially when there is a growing body of scientific evidence that brings the Al Gore theory into question. In fact, it is becoming clear that the entire Al Gore Climate Alarmism is nothing more than a Hoax!

Why?

Because even if Al Gore’s catastrophic predictions were true, all the so-called "solutions" of the Climate Alarmists wouldn’t even put a dent in the "problem" of rising CO2 levels!

I just took part in an important strategy meeting on Capitol Hill with key leaders who are working to stop this new tax scheme. The problem is, the Climate Alarmists are pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into their crusade and they have just about every political and Hollywood elite on their side.

Interesting idea, I hope you don't shut down a highway I use.  The people who would have to route around the highway would burn more gas and make the situation worse.

Good idea, but to shut down a hwy you are going to need the city were it going to happen backing. that may not be easy to get. good luck

1)  Money doesn't solve a naturally occurring climate cycle.

2)  People can not miss school/work because their route has been altered.  They will drive more miles with more frequent stops resulting in a LOT more gas being used.

3)  People traveling at unsafe speeds (because they're running late to school/work thanks to the greater distance) on roads they're unfamiliar with (because they always take the most efficient route, ie:  the highway) will result in a spike in automobile accidents/fatalities.  These deaths will be a direct result of your idea.

4)  Using the government to control other people's behavior is a VERY dangerous idea, which is what your idea would require.  I'm sure at the age of 14 you wouldn't like it if we decided all teenagers must be chaperoned in public by a parent, or must wear a tracking device at all times.  It's not hard to image how such measures could be passed into law as a "feel good" act to protect the children.

Edit:  "im only 14 dont put me down please, no rude comments"  Does being 14 excuse you for putting us down and being rude by calling us "douche bags"?  Ever wonder why children aren't taken seriously?  I'm the exception.  I've spoken to you as I would any adult, and I will continue to do so.

Take some time to study Solar Cycles (sunspots) if you really care about the cause of global warming.  Then figure out how your walk and the money it generates will control the Sun.

It would be much easier to hold YOU responsible for GLOBAL WARMING. For instance could u be liable for the high cost of gasoline.
