  1. yea. i wont be alive then though so i dont much care. well, i care a little bit cuz i dont wont my family to die but then they would have might be with me in heaven so... yea...

  2. Yes, but i think its a natural climatic cycle , i dont think its due to human activity.

  3. yes we all know what we need to do and need to do are part

  4. Of course its real and I think if people werent so lazy and high maintanance it can be a relatively easy problem to fix

  5. I don't believe it. I think it's a bunch of bull. Although, God does say in the Bible that he will destroy the earth by fire in the end...lol.

  6. Check this out...

  7. Yes it is real but it is not as serious as some people make it out to be. Fact is we will not live long enough to see the effects. Most people don't care for people in the future.

  8. Here's the comparison I can make.

People ignored the facts on the whole "Holocaughst" thing in germany and many still do that today eventhough the facts are blareing in there face.

Well the same thing with G Warming.

  9. Yes I think it's real.... after watching "The Inconvenient Truth," a documentary by Al Gore, it really makes you think about how its affecting us... its kinda scary.

  10. Ya I do think its real & i feel that its high time everyone gives more importance to the topic & thank U for bringing it up..

  11. I think global warming sucks and it's very, very real.

  12. Yep, it's real. I learned about it. It's actually a real danger and something should be done o stop it.

  13. It's real. But only with human intervention can ever reverse the tolls is has taken and the toll it will take. Just like cloning or preserving endangered animals.

  14. i think it's real. and it's not good either. animals are going to become extinct if we dont pull this together! i've done a lot to help and im continuing to do more! thanks for bringing it up (:

  15. I think global warming is retarded. Throughout history the world has went through warming and cooling changes, but just because al gore says its true everybody and their brother believes it.

  16. I personally believe that global warming is a farce intended to scare people and governments into providing funding to those who want to benefit financially.  Now, I'm not saying that we shouldn't try to find alternative fuels and/or conserve our resources but the danger is nowhere close to what the "fear-mongers" are insinuating.

  17. Nick C, Cindy's point was completely meaningless.

Gore did not "invent" global warming. Global warming had been in scientific circles way before Gore ever knew about it!

You cannot link global warming to politics in this way. If you go back in science books and publications long before Gore and Clinton, you still see global warming! It was discovered by scientific research, not by Al Gore, and almost all scientists who specialise in atmospheric research and have access to all the data believe it, not just Al Gore!

  18. Not caused by humans. Its an overreaction to nature's changes.

  19. Its real alright and people should start paying more attention to it! Its a very serious topic that will affect our children...good question!...Al Gore makes some good points in his documnetry check it out.

  20. well from where i sit...al gore is a r****d, he jinxed the whole thing!!! it has not stopped snowing...and since the snow did start to melt(FINALLY)we get more on friday!!

there will never be global warming...ever!

only because al gore is dumb!

  21. I think it's real, I just don't believe it's to the extent that Al Gore, Hollywood and the media portray it. It's a politically popular subject now which is why it's in our face. But I like to see both sides of a situation. There are many scientists that will tell you that what the earth is going through is a normal process that occurs every thousands of years or so. By the way, this years winter really put a dent in the theory I gotta say.

  22. Theres no doubt that its real.  But im not gonna go hug a tree.  Maybe just recycle and buy a hybrid in a few years.

  23. it's real... sure the earth can have temperature fluctuation throughout time. but the rapid increase since the industrial revolution had been so drastic. even if the earth was getting warmer and humans weren't here it would be happening much much slower.

i think some people are in serious denial and don't want to sacrifice their way of  life drastically.

  24. yehhh it sucks

one day is dallas it snows and the next it's all warm and sunny

global warming will kill us one day, human need take action aND CARE about teh environment than tehir own personal needs

  25. No wonder why every scam artist congregates here from every other country.  This is where people believe anything!  Gore should have gone to Cal tech, however, he chose to go to Hollywood...  Why, to sell a bill of goods and you suckers fell for it, hook, line and sinker!

  26. My baloney's got a first name, it's name is A-l-b-e-r-t

My baloney's got a last name, it's name is G-o-r-e

At least I think that's how the commercial went.  They used to play it on TV when I was a kid, back when the "experts" were telling us we were slipping into another ice age.

  27. global warming is very real. yes, we had an ice age 10000yrs ago, and i do believe part of it is evolutional. but wasnt that one caused by meteors? i dont really know much about what happened in the past. i do believe in a higher power, and i also believe in evolution. i guess u can call me a theo-evolutionist. i dont believe in the bible, or jesus or none of that. but i do believe in mother nature, and that the earth is a living being, just like all of us, and all the animals. i believe that all natural things evolve, and i believe that something put us here to evolve. i guess its mother natures way of showing us that time exists, and that life is a cycle. i believe in reincarnation. i believe that the higher power shows us this through creation. the earth went through an iceage before, and we know its happening again. the earth always gets warmer since the last ice age

look at the ozone layer. the holes didnt pop up for no reason. no! man is doing this. human nature is the nature deluded by ignorance, and man is ignorarnt of things like this. man is selfish, and not worried by what happens around us. basically, the human race dont care. and us humans abuse mother nature for our material gain. its selfish! the majority of people on this planet suffer from ignorance. people from all walks of life suffer from the state of mind, pleasures, wants. whether u believe in god or not, u still do this to mother earth. creation is there, u cant deny it. we were all created somehow in someway. but we abuse the land of creation, resulting in destruction. global warming is a natural process, and regardless there will be a coming iceage. but instead of the people, and th goverments destroying mother nature, and poking holes in the ozone layer, we really should be worried about conserving nature, respecting nature. dont litter. dont use to much of natural resources. stop the coal plants! use water for electricity! quit deforestation, its lowly! its hurting mother nature, hurting our environment, hurting our mind, body and soul. people who dont see this are real ignorant. if we dont make a change now, the ice age may come sooner than we think! it really could be our generation who suffers! so make a change now, and quit polluting mother earth! respect nature! u can start making a difference now! u dont gotta be a politician, make the difference in ur own home. have a garden, keep ur surroundings green. if u gotta yard, have a lil pond, some source of water. keep it clean! if u live in the city like me, keep indoor plants. dont pollute outside. keep the outside clean. take care of our planet. this is our only home. you wouldnt wana be homeless, would you?

  28. Yes I believe in global warming, and global cooling as well. The earth will always be cooling or warming.Do I think that this global warming will cause the seas to rise 20 feet and cause all kind of abnormal weather and catastrophe...Heck NO! The problem is that you have a dufuss like algore that tries to make you believe that we are responsible for the earth warming. This is nonsense. Why? Because the so called evidence the proponents use for their global warming models do not take into account things such as volcanos, solar energy, clouds, oceanic temps etc. that have a more profound effect on temperature than the CO2 myth that algore is pushing down our throats. What arrogance to think that we have that kind of effect on the climate.

If indeed we are the cause of this climate change of warming then we would have to assume that we are also the cause of it cooling as well. This past year we have actually cooled by almost a degree. If we do cause this up or down temperature then why not just figure out what we did this past year to cool the earth and when it gets a bit warm just start doing what we need to do to cool the earth and if it starts getting too cold then start cranking out the CO2 to warm it back up again. Sounds ludacris doesn't it?

The Oceans actually hold heat in much, much more efficiently than CO2 in the atmosphere. After a study of the Ocean temps they have actually found that they have cooled by a small margin.

Anyway the point is that we do not have the effect on the temperature as some would have you believe and even if it does go up by a degree we are not going to all burn and die! What is the ideal temperature for the earth anyway? Maybe we are 5 or 10 degrees colder than the ideal and the earh is just trying to warm out of an ice age to get to the ideal temp???

  29. I don't feel about it, and no I don't think it is real, or at least I don't think it is man made.  Sure the earth may be getting warmer, its been getting warmer, 10,000 years ago everything was covered with Ice, they called it a ice age, so we know its gotten warmer since then,  We have only been able to really measure temp. for the last 300 years, but we pretend that we know the worlds weather patterns since the beginning of time.

    I just don't buy it.

  30. Yes it's real.

But only in the short term. The world is slowly moving into another ice age. No need to be alarmed as none of us alive today will live to see it.

The recent global warming is the result of human activity, particularly the rapid growth in population. If nothing is done to control the population then global warming becomes insignificant, in that it's just a symptom, and a short term effect.

  31. There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

We know it's warming, and we've measured how much:

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...

Scientists have a good idea how the Sun and the Earth's natural cycles and volcanoes and all those natural effects change the global climate, so they've gone back and checked to see if they could be responsible for the current global warming.  What they found is:

Over the past 30 years, all solar effects on the global climate have been in the direction of (slight) cooling, not warming.  This is during a very rapid period of global warming.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/62902...

    http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/media/pro...

    A recent study concluded:

“the range of  [Northern Hemisphere]-temperature reconstructions and natural forcing histories…constrain the natural contribution to 20th century warming to be <0.2°C [less than one-third of the total warming].  Anthropogenic forcing must account for the difference between a small natural temperature signal and the observed warming in the late 20th century.”

    http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/104...

You can see this in the third graph here, where the dotted lines are just from natural causes, and the full lines are natural + human causes:

    http://www.pnas.org/content/vol104/issue...

If that’s not enough to convince you the Sun isn’t responsible, consider the fact that no scientific study has ever attributed more than one-third of the warming over the past 30 years to the Sun, and most attribute just 0-10% to the Sun.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

So the Sun certainly isn't a large factor in the current warming.  They've also looked at natural cycles, and found that we should be in the middle of a cooling period right now.

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitc...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/ab...

So it's definitely not the Earth's natural cycles.  They looked at volcanoes, and found that

    a) volcanoes cause more global cooling than warming, because the particles they emit block sunlight

    b) humans emit over 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes annually

    http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/Gases/man....

So it's certainly not due to volcanoes.  Then they looked at human greenhouse gas emissions.  We know how much atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased over the past 50 years:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mauna...

And we know from isotope ratios that this increase is due entirely to human emissions from burning fossil fuels.  We know how much of a greenhouse effect these gases like carbon dioxide have, and the increase we've seen is enough to have caused almost all of the warming we've seen over the past 30 years (about 80-90%).  You can see a model of the various factors over the past century here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Clima...

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.
