at the beginning of the carboniferous era, there was 5 times as much carbon dioxide in the air, and the average temp was 10 degrees F higher. thick growth of plants covered the earth, pulling carbon dioxide out of the air so fast that they couldn't even rot fast enough to put it back, so huge amounts of carbon got just buried.

after 100 million years, the carbon dioxide was down to where it is now, and so was the temp. now, we're digging up all that carbon and pumping back into the air over a century or two, and you want to believe it probably won't change anything? right.

C. I don't think we are anywhere near to understanding the drivers of the global climate. I am very skeptical and perhaps a little frightened by the religous like following man-made global warming has enjoyed. The absolute attitude that many proponents have taken is quite enough to promote skeptisism.

B, except that human activity is enhancing rather than completely causing warming. We have a lot of vectors at work, and without our greenhouse effect enhancements we might be seeing slight warming or cooling, but  changing as wo go along.

We are contributing to the greenhouse effect, not causing it all ourselves. Even global warming contributes substantially to global warming, and global cooling  when it occurs contributes to more global cooling. We can not assume it will never be too late to slow down GW.

C. Water causes the earth to warm more than anything else. It accounts for about 79% of the warming of the earth. There are other factors, some caused by humans, the variation of the the heat from the Sun, the variation of the tilt of the earth and volcanos. To name a few.

The climate of the Earth has been changing since it formed.  Look up the "Medieval Warming".  I don't think humans were industrialized so much then, and it still occured.  Humans may be speeding the rate at which it happens but it is all connected to a fluctuation that occurs even without our involvement.
