Question:

Global warming?!?

I was watching Al Gores slideshow on global warming the other day and it got me thinking. Green house gasses make it so that the heat comes back to the earth so wouldn't removing that make it so that the heat could leave the atmosphere that gets trapped? If air large air purifiers were stuck on buildings in NY were polution is REALY bad would that remove the green house gasses? Or would running the air purifiers just produce more heat?

And does anyone else have any ideas they would like to share as far as global warming that could be useful?

  1. You seem serious on this question. But, many others merely check their pulse or, perhaps like the Old Greeks, look at the entrails of a chicken and forecast the future.

They have reduced a scientific question into a religious one. Do you believe in GW? Or, not?

Should I try to convert you to my view?

Do I know more than you do? How would I know?

    Why should you care?

Global Warming as a religious issue of the I do/don't believe is a waste of time, regardless the side you are.

    Find something more entertaining,

How about asking "Is Entertainment the Purpose of Life?"

No matter the answer, everyone is right!

  2. Al Gore's smoking something and not sharing. It's nonsense, or the closest thing to it.

  3. Here are some articles about Global Warming, you may find them interesting:

  4. Hmm how do we address global warming?  I guess we could ask Al Gore to stop using hundreds of times more electricity in his Mansions than the average family uses.  How about if Al Gore stopped traveling by private jet all over the world?  Or he could stop driving 10-20 SUV's at a time to haul all of his entourage around.  Perhaps if Mr Gore thought Global Warming was a serious issue he might start practicing what he preaches.

  5. Consider this....most of what gore talks about is bogus.

Fact, global warming (this cycle) has been going on for hundreds of years....and its a fact we will in fact have 10degrees lower temps in 10 years per the #1 atmospheric expert on this planet (and he is more expert on atmosphere than almost all climatilogists combined).. He is considered the Einstein/Hawkings of Atmospheric Science.

  6. my ideas are less high tech than yours

but i will share them with you

global warming i dont think can be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, this requires global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

    POSITIVE ACTIONS

if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

    the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

    education on environmental awareness

education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

    recicling wastes,limit water use

  7. Global warming is a serious issue but the BIGGEST question is...What is the cause?  The Earths temperature has fluctuated quite a bit over very long periods of time.  Over the past few decades we have seen a slight rise.

Al Gore and some others tell you this is caused by a rise in green house gases (mostly carbon dioxide) in our atmosphere.  They claim that the blame for this is that modern civilizations are burning too many fosil fuels and thus producing too much carbon dioxide. But you are only hearing one side of the story from the mainstream media.

You will find a great discussion of this topic in a video called The Great Global Warming Swindle.  This is a documentary produced by the BBC and provides a balanced, factual, and objective examination of the whole global warming issue.  It lasts about 75 minutes but is time well spent.  You will learn a great deal about this issue.

You can find short clips of it on You Tube or you can go to the link below to watch the entire video - which I would recommend to anyone with interest on this topic.

Instead of gross exagerations, fear tactics, and undocumented assertions, (such as you get from Mr. Gores presentation) you have recognized and respected scientists presenting their research results and explaining the science behind it in simple terms.

In summary, you will learn that carbon dioxide has very little (if any at all) impact on global temperatures.

You will learn that carbon dioxide is not a good insulator and is a small percentage of our total atmosphere.

You will learn that water vapor has a much great impact on global temperatures.

You will learn that sun spot activity has a much greater impact on temperature levels than green house gases and you will learn how increased sun spot activity increases the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere.

And lastly, you will learn that carbon dioxide levels increase when global temperature rise - and therefore Al Gore and those like him actually have the relationship backwards.

  8. listen. i agree temps have been rising. BUT ONLY A LITTLE. global warming is a myth. this is related so listen to me. dinosaurs lived in temps HIGHER THAN OURS!!! tell me this. were there any automobiles or factories. the earth it self froze it self to what became known as the Ice Age. the earth slowly warmed itself so humans could live. this is just another stage in our green planets life. Cars and Factories may have part in it but should not take all the blame.
