  1. i care ever so much i mean i don

't want my kids to suffer for something that they didn't even do, thats just plain wrong!!!

we need to stop sending greenhouse gases into the air. we need to drive environment - safe cars but some car companies won't because it cost too much. but what they don't understand is if the world ends they won't even be able to sell anything. this world is slowly dying thanks to all of us!!!!

  2. being on this computer and website at this very minute is causing global warming!

i do take it seriously and always turn off the switch or light/fan or whatever whenever i am not using it. Dont ever put your tv on standby because it is wasting power and producing green house gas emissions.

Small things like that do alot! It may not seem like it but it takes one person to make a whole difference. Even by cutting down the amount of time you spend in the shower wil help too.

  3. People (particularly North Americans) need to fly less, buy smaller cars and houses, think about living closer to their work, walk more, support local stores instead of megamalls.   In other words, learn to live within and support their own community.

This is not a hardship.  On the contrary, it is a much less stresssful lifestyle where people are physically more fit, have more time for their families (less time commuting and working for consumer goods), and live in healthier communities with less pollution, more people walking, fewer cars, lots of local activities, people looking out for each other, etc.

How do we get there?  A carbon tax where the money collected is used toward public transport and re-newable energy would be a good start.  But ultimately we will only reach this gentler, more enriching lifestyle when it becomes socially unacceptable to have big cars and fly to Hawaii every year.  Just as it became socially unacceptable to throw garbage on the street years ago.

  4. create an artificial ozone layer. either that or move inland!

  5. Everyone should DECREASE their use of cars and motorcycles! If everyone either walks or takes public transport like train or bus it would be more energy saving. Also, reuse paper, plastic and aluminnuim. I care about global warming too! Good luck. Lets try to speard the word to save the Earth!

  6. Yep, stop sending ships to Mars. And take care of Earth and the people on it.

  7. it is funny to me that no one has ponderd what effects the nuclear testing in the nevada desert has done to change our climate and the increased incidence of disease in this and other countries, think and read knowledge and power

  8. I think for the most part, the discussion on (Global Warming) is much like our modern day court system. Both sides just try to prove their side.hundred of websites all claiming to disprove the other, or no real proof.  Both sides have extreme activists. Money and politics are major players, and the right thing or the moral thing to do is not high on priorities.

Al Gore really stands out and has really hurt the Global Warming cause with his commentary and egotistical version of the earth's natural Climate changes. His movie an inconvenient truth is a really bad movie by the way.

There is a small amount of fact there, but little to no absolute truth as to what or who caused it.

The only difference is that the global warming issue has no definitive answer equivalent to jury and /or Judge.. only time holds our future or fate.

I believe we have a responsibility to conserve energy, preserve our environment and recycle everything that is feasibly possible.

I do not believe that we are causing a doom & gloom warming catastrophe.  I do know that we need to prepare now by conserving energy, preserving nature and preparing for the next climate change.

Please don't form your opinon from this forum. To many close minded "hot heads" with no real proof to back their doom & gloom.

  9. Go Nuclear Power and stop Population Growth. The majority of man made CO2 is from Power Plants and reducing forest area for our expanding populations, not cars. Little cars and Hybrids will help, but we need to focus more on the major sources.

  10. Today here is what we know:  many of mankind’s advancements cause earth surface to warm, destroy the ozone layer, kill off endanger species, heat cities, and in some way cause more destruction.  Blacktop (roads and parking lots), buildings, air pollution (causes lung and other diseases), deforestation, duststorms (which increase hurricanes and cyclones and cause lung diseases), fires (cause pollution, mud slides, and deforestation), refrigerants (like CFC's), solvents (including benzene destroy the ozone layer raising skin cancer rates) and plastics; cars, airplanes, ships and most electricity production (causes pollution including raised CO2 levels) are human problems we need to fix to keep life on earth sustainable! That is why I founded CoolingEarth.org, a geoengineering web sight. The federal government needs to adopt a pollution surcharge to balance the field and advance new technologies. We must pay the real price of oil (petrochemicals) including global warming, cleanup and for health effects. But with that we must understand we have never seen what is now happening before. CO2 has never lead to temperature change, but temperature change has led to increases in CO2. The models have to be made as we go along with little evidence! The result is:  change is on the way, we just do not know what changes. But again adding a small amount of CO2 to the atmosphere enlarges the earths sun collection causing warming; increase water in the atmosphere and they form clouds cooling earth but causing flooding. Even natural events are warming earth and causing destruction. The sun has an increased magnetic field causing increases in earthquakes (more destruction), volcanoes (wow, great destruction), and sun spots. Lighting produces ozone near the surface (raising air pollution levels). But humans have destroyed half of the wetlands, cut down nearly half of the rain forest, and advance on the earths grasslands while advancing desertification which increases duststorms. The USA Mayor's have taken a stand and I believe are on the right track, we can have control and can have economic growth. With the peak of oil in the 1970’s, the peak of ocean fishing in the 1980’s, humans must stop procrastinating and make real changes to keep earth sustainable including in the energy debate, finance and regulation. The sun is available to produce energy, bring light to buildings and makes most of human’s fresh water. Composting is the answer to desertification. New dams are the answer to fresh water storage, energy and cooling earth by evaporation, we need many small one all over (California needs 100 by 2012 and has not even started).

President Bush has made a choice of energy (ethanol) over food and feeding the starving people around the world; this is a choice China has rejected.
