why do we say save the planet?

i think the earth is going to be just fine...its been around for billions of years and gone through much more traumatic changes than being a few degrees hotter.

i reckon the planet is going to be ok for another 100 billion years.

on the other hand we humans...we're fu**ed.

so back to my question "why say save the planet."

why not say save our species?

i think a lot more people would wake up.

we're all going to die and the planet will still keep spining

  1. Right !!    And while u are at it remember how much gasoline is costing us because of the GW scam.

  2. well, i agree with the first answerer. without anyone living in the planet, who would use it. and saving the planet doesn't mean saving only the planet but also saving the species living in it. if the planet gets more and more ruined, the life in it will die. that is why when you say saving the planet it already means saving everything in the world.

phrases about the environment has a deeper meaning than you think. be more logical. before you post questions, always try to find answers first on your own.

    have a nice day!

  3. Keeping the planet spinning does not mean that it is all fine. A planet with no life is like a dead leaf. If you think that keeping the planet spinning is enough than the planets like mercury, venus, saturn, jupiter etc. are all spinning. Do you think that there is any good in that? Is there asny advantage of these spinning planets on anybody ?Thus, what is needed is the life not just the spinning planet and the life would be saved only when the environment would besaved. So, my freind that we must save our planet. It would be beneficial to ourselves. And our coming generations would bless us.

  4. Saving the planet mean not the physical planet but all the lives that live now. Global warming will not destroy the planet - physical but destroy all the living beings.

  5. save the planet is used to mean save the life on the planet and the ecosystems in which they live.

Perhaps "Save the Planet as we know and love it" or "save the planetary biosphere" would be more accurate, although a lot les catchy!

Given that the human experience is of the Biosphere, and we are talking from a human perspective, then the planet=the biosphere.

  6. Because what we humans do changes things for the whole planet.  Good or bad.
