Hi my name is Tae and I'm doing a project involving global warming. I would like to ask a few questions, and feel free to only answer a few, it will greatly benefit me. Thank you for your time.

8.) recycle, turn off lights that are not being used, turn off water that is not being used, pick up trash, and if you research Global Warming you will find many other many things

Maybe, but we would have to start RIGHT NOW and we would have to cut off major pollutants and...everything really.

It is something that was coming anyway. But we (humans-polluters) caused it to come sooner. And we are making it worse because we are polluting.

Polluting as I said. And many people aren't even aware what is happening. It's quite sad actually.

Maybe, it all depends. If everyone in the world does something about it MAYBE. But how likely is that?

Good question, you tell me. Most people just don't like to accept the facts so they don't believe it.

Not much. But don;t get me wrong these things still help!! But you can recycle, get a battery powered car or if not car pool, be more energy efficient...ex. Just the little things

1) Naturally-Occuring Global Warming is at it's early to mid stage point and has been progressing at least 10,000years when the Bering Land Bridge was placed below Sea-Level.

Anthropogenic Global Warming has yet to be proved and published in a Scientific Journal and is becoming less likely as more evidence is collected.

2) Global Warming, or Greenhouse Effect, is part of the normal cycle for the Earth and any attempt to unnaturally force a stable condition may induce some serious side effects.  We have good examples of artificially controlling aspects of the human body and the side effects which most medicines have.

3) Primarily water evaporation...Water Vapor is the largest contributor to Global Warming as is documented in the NOAA website (URL below).  Other contributors are volcanic and geologic actions.

4) Less pollution will reduce manmade sources but not overwhelm the natural sources.  Reduce, Re-use, Recycle!

5) Nope.  Artificially impacting a natural cycle can produce serious side effects.

6) Bering Land Bridge is now below Sea Level, Glaciars in retreat, seasonal rainfall patterns changed.

7) Because of the purported evidence cited by AGW proponents...such as Sea Level Rise.  If you take the numbers given in documentaries such as NBCs Global Warming: What you need to know or NGCs Six Degrees...we should already be seeing 9ft of Sea Level rise since the Industrial Revolution (1760) without any contributions from Thermal Expansion taken into account.  Captain Cook charted many Pacific Atolls during his travels in 1770 with many below 1meter(3ft) and none have been documented to be below Sea Level to date.

8) You can't...the real battle is reducing waste and pollution in our daily lives.  Global Warming will continue with or without Human Beings on the planet.

2) I don't think that its too late to prevent, but soon it will be, when its too late,then people will want to start to help it.

4) EVERYTHING!  by not recycling, or reducing, eatting food from mexico, its our whole life styles, driving hummers for 2 hour commute to work, everything that we do is harboring our environment.

5) I think that it can be done, but it will take come drastic measures from government to put in legislation to do so...

6) You see it more in the north, they can't hunt anymore on the ice, its melting.  Not as cold, glaciers melting, you see different birds around that you didn't see before,

7) Because people are greedy.  They don't want to give up their luxuries.  Their cars, bananas in the winter..lol.  People think that they are invincable and that nothing will happen to them.. When things like Katrina happen, everyone points fingers, then think that its just a natural disaster that happen.  But its a sign, that something big is going to happen, and wipe out more than half of the population.  Do you think they will learn then? Nope humans are idiots.. really! think about it.

8) spread the news.  Little things can help, but it takes everyone to jump on the band wagon to help.  Educate yourself, and do the little things like walk, public transit, unplug unused appliances, shut off lights, reduce, buy from farmers markets, don't use plastics, buy locally owned, don't over consume...

7.-Bad science education and public misinformation doled out by right wing propaganda sources trying to protect corporate interests.

8.-Explain to people that their skepticism is mostly ill informed and conserve energy.

1) Depends on how you are defining Global Warming.  I have heard many different definitions, but AGW is at best early.

2) I believe that it would be impossible to prevent Global Warming.

3) The Sun.  The rotation of the Earth's Core.  Cosmic Radiation.

4) Using Global Warming as an excuse to destroy economies and to steal money from the pockets of the innocent.  It does not matter if you believe in AGW or not, there are people taking advantage and using AGW to basically steal money from people.  It happens during every legitimate crisis, and it is happening now.  

5) No.  Not at our current level of technology.

6) Heat.  Near constant rainfall world wide.

7) Because, like Alar, and DDT, they have been told by the government that there was a crisis before, they shelled out money in the form of taxes before, and ultimately the research was proven to be profit oriented and was wrong.  Now we are talking about spending 10 to 50 times as much money per person, and yet there is no accurate models, graphs that have been proven to be manipulated, and people attempting to justify the "exaggerated" evidence.  I don't trust the government to spend my property tax correctly.  Am I suppose to trust them this time with even more money with all the questions still unanswered?

8) Honestly?  Based on real data and current evidence, I would say the best ways would be to ride a bicycle or walk when you can, eat less meat, or cut out red meat altogether, and use energy efficient appliances.

1) Early, very early.  A century isn't even a tick of the geologic clock.  That doesn't mean we have a lot of time.  We've messed things up more in the time we've been polluting than natural causes could in a thousand times that time period.

2)  Probably not.  We don't know enough to say for sure.  It is certain we won't stop it by doing nothing.

3) All forms of burning fossil fuels.  People will guess cars, airplanes, and other transportation.  Actually our computer technology, its use, production and maintainance is one of the worst offenders.  This includes Ipods, gaming (Xbox, PS2, etc), cell phones and so forth.

4) Not implementing technologies we have that would reduce our output of greenhouse gases.  This would include electric cars, hybrids, light rail, among others.  The trouble is the industries hang onto the older technologies because there is profit in it (a rising profit as things get worse), and we the citizens let them get away with that.

5) By prevent, I assumne you mean "reverse" as it has been going on for a century.  Yes, I'll believe that until Mother Nature proves me wrong.  Another way to state this question is "Do you believe it is possible for the human race to survive?"  God I hope so!

6) The melting polar caps and glaciers.  The sudden migration of entire species to new habitat.  Sudden rediscovery of species thought extinct, or mythical.  Sudden disappearance of whole species.  The explosion of discovery of new species, as they leave the places where they have been hiding.

7) It's due to some very short-sighted politics by the extreme Right Wing in the USA, with support of one kind or another from industries and interests making financial profits from the conditions causing Global Warming.

8) More than anything, limit your own use of fossil fuel wherever you can.  Walk instead of drive where possible.  Turn off lights.  Do your gardening by hand rather than using power implements.

If you think this wouldn't have an impact, let me tell you something.  I heard yesterday that the average miles per gallon in Japan is 42, whereas the average in the USA is 26.  Now there's no technology gap, there's just a lot of profit taking in America, with no value added.  People will say, "That's easy, lets just drill for oil in the Alaskan Wildlife preserve".  Those reserves are well mapped.  What you would get would run the USA about a year and a half.  On the other hand, raising our MPG in the USA to what the Japanese already have done would save that amount EVERY YEAR.

When you walk instead of driving you can just add those miles to the miles in your car's MPG figure, and see what happens.  I think you'll be surprised.  Don't let people convince you you can't make a difference.  Sure walking can be a pain in the rear, such as when it rains.  So the real problem we need to work on is getting rid of Leaders who allow these terrible things to go on.  Peace.

2. Yes I do, I believe the Earth really is going through a warming stage. And I'll tell you why later.

4. We are probably doing SOME damage, but not nearly as much as people like to say we are. We could have more recycling stations that are more accessible because the gas alone that transports our recylced goods to stations kind of offputs the good deed itself.

5. No, I really don't.

6. The ice caps are melting, there is less snow during the winter in regions where there is usually snow, there are tornadoes in the winter in places when tornadoes shouldn't hit for another few months, and other crazy weather phenomenon.

7. I personally believe the earth is in a warming phase. The Earth really does go through warming and cooling phases. For everyday that it was 70 degrees in February where I live, it was 76 degrees on the same exact day back in the 70s. Where people complaining about global warming then? No! Its just a phase..

8. We should definitely treat the Earth better. Even though I believe this is a warming phase, I don't think we should trash our home.
