Glock 21 vs. Glock 20??

Question

I was thinking about the 17 but changed my mind. Its between these two no. I know i cant go wrong with either but im leaning slightly towards the 21. But i still dont know for sure. Lil help???

I have the 21 and love it. I'm a 45 ACP guy and always will be.

The pistols cost the same. As Robin said same frame and sights...

The ammo cost: there is an insignificant cost difference but the 45 is more readily available everywhere.

The 21 wins the popularity contest.

.45 ammo is cheaper and more readily available.  However the 10mm has better stopping power.  I personally love the .45acp so I would go with the G21.  

I personally would go fire both of them and then pick the one that you are more comfortable firing.  Both are built the same and have the same frame, etc.  So that won't make a difference.

Recoil is low to moderate on both pistols.  Its not a .22 by any means but at the same time it has more recoil than a 9mm.  Its not bad though, and there are plenty of women out there that shoot Glocks.

No comparison.  The Glock 20 is much more capable than the Glock 21.  The 10mm cartridge can do everthing:  light loads for target shooting, medium loads for self defense, and heavy loads for hunting.  Bullet weights and speeds range from 135gr/1600fps to 230gr/1120fps.

But if ammo cost is a factor and you only need the gun for self defense, the the Glock 21 in .45 ACP is the logical choice.

EDIT:  Glock 20 recoil is not an issue.

Just like you, I went back and forth between the 29 and 30.    10mm is more powerful, but .45 is more available and cheaper.  I got the 30 in .45 for that reason.

That's tough. They have the same frame, sights...

I'm a huge fan of the 45ACP so it is my preference.

The 10mm has a slight advantage in power, range and capacity and is the logical better choice.
