The four-day match between Gloucestershire and Hampshire, in the ongoing County Championship Division Two, ended in a draw on Thursday, August 09, at County Ground, Bristol.

This was perhaps the time when Gloucestershire should have declared the innings in a bid to secure a narrow win. However, the side chose to play safe and continued batting with Cockbain exhibiting supreme form at his end.
Gloucestershire’s eighth wicket fell with a tally of 269 on the board, when ID Saxelby was trapped in front of stumps by LA Dawson after contributing ten runs.
On the second delivery of the next over, they lost their ace batsman Cockbain, who perished after mounting a staggering knock of 112 runs off 227 deliveries.
