Glover Teixeira: I was not nervous at all in my first fight – UFC News
After brutally defeating Kyle Kingsbury in his debut bout, Glover Teixeira, now of UFC, wants to make it big in the industry. Hailing from Brazil, Glover is not a newbie in the arena. He has been in the sport for ten long years and finally he got the opportunity
to have his debut fight on UFC 146 past Saturday. The determined fighter who looked sharp in his fast bout claims he was not even a bit nervous.
In his recent interview, Glover said, “Even with it being my first fight in the UFC, I wasn't nervous at all. I was very calm and relaxed, maybe because of all my fights before. Things happen for a reason, so I'm happy with the way everything is going. The
past is the past, and I can't go back in time to change anything. Right now, the one I wouldn't want to fight is Lyoto Machida. I've trained with him, I help him out and he's a great guy. Whatever they tell me to do, I'll do, but if I could have a say, Lyoto
would be the one I wouldn't want to fight.”
Right now, Glover stands with 18 wins and 2 losses in the sport. Finally, he made it to the grandest stage of all after numerous visa issues since the last three years. After he dominated his opponent in the cage, most fans are already hoping and expecting
him to become the next big thing in the sport.
For Teixeira, there are a lot of opponents in the UFC. With his addition, the 205 division becomes even stronger and more competitive. Chances are that he might face Machida as an opponent next.
As of now, there is no news regarding Teixeira’s next fight. President Dana White is happy with the recruit and he believes he is going to be a great addition. If he continues to win, he might become the next dominating factor of the 205 division. However,
unlike his previous opponents, in UFC he will face the toughest ones. In other words, this is the real deal for Glover and he needs to prove his mettle here.
