Glucose diabetes test result?

I dont understand the result, it says 6.3 that's lower than normal and its good, don't want to get higher than 6.3. But why is it lower than normal?

  1. The way you look at test like that is to look at the range. Usually there is a range from low - normal - high.  Keep in mind if you have diabetes your target range will be slightly different from those who do not have diabetes.  Also, depending on the lab...the range can be slightly different.

    4.0 - 6.0 is normal for those who do not have diabetes.  7.0 is considered normal for those who have diabetes.  If you are 6.3 (fasting with diabetes) you are low normal.  9.0 and higher is not good for those who have diabetes or other wise and can be a sign that something is wrong.  


  2. 7.0 is considered perfect, so 6.3 is actually very good.
