Gluten Free foods that I don't have to cook?????

What are some Gluten Free foods that don't require going to a health store? Like corn chips and snacks and stuff. I don't want to get anything that requires alot of cooking only microvwavable stuff, because it is just for my little cousin when he comes over.

  1. If your local supermarket has an organic section it is likely to contain some foods and snacks that are already prepared and clearly labeled gluten free. And there's always fresh fruits and veggies.  


  2. Most grocery stores have really good gluten free sections these days. You can find it in with the organic foods.. but just because something is organic DOESN'T mean its gluten free.     A stir-fry with rice, vegetables, and chicken is a good, easy, gluten free meal. Just don't use soy sauce or make sure to pick up some gluten free soy sauce because for some reason wheat is in soy sauce.


  3. Corn based items like tortillas or tortilla chips, rice cakes, cream of rice cereal, rice noodles, You could do a simple casserole with any of the above and ground beef or chicken.

  4. You are always safe with fresh foods. Fruits and veggies are always fine, but be careful with any dressings though. Ask his mom what kind he can have.

    Salsa is usually gf, but read the label just in case.

    You can also get gluten free microwaveable meals in the Organic section of most grocery stores now. Look for Amy's Organics, it will say gluten free right on the front. They also have gf mac and cheese as well.

    an easy meal? Fresh fruit, fun veggies like carrots, etc. and your meat of choice (burgers and gf hotdogs are pretty easy) with chips on the side.

    Be sure to ask his parents about dairy products as well, many celiacs are also lactose intolerant.
