  1. I'm on a sugar and yeast-free diet at the moment so I'm having a lot of trouble with breakfast too. Can you eat yoghurt? Yoghurt with a banana is nice, and I eat a lot of eggs.

  2. For breakfast, I normally have a home-made juice. I have carrot, orange, lemon, ginger & turmeric juice. Followed by a bowl of whatever fruit I have in the house (i.e.) a bowl of cantaloupe melon.

A few years ago, I went through a very restrictive stage because of some allergies and had to avoid many of the same things.

In an effort to get a good variety of foods, I often found myself eating traditionally dinner items for breakfast (i.e.) steamed veggies and rice. I just pretended I was in Asia, where they mainly eat rice for breakfast.

    So how about:

Plain vegetable soup with brown rice. The rice helps to bulk it up & fill you up whilst nourishing you. Yes there is some debate as to whether rice is gluten-free. I believe it is, or at least some types like wild rice are.

Egg – boiled, scrambled, poached or omelettes.

    Bubble & Squeak

    Scrambled tofu

Waffles, crepes or pancakes (with the batter made from gluten-free flour & soy milk) served with poached fruit

    Buttermilk or Buckwheat Pancakes

French toast - made with gluten-free bread, served with maple syrup

Poached or baked fruit (I normally have apples, but almost any fruit can be poached or baked)

Spiced Dahl – you could always make a batch the night before and have left overs for breakfast and lunch the next day. Very filling and warming in winter.

    Salads

Shake – you can use rice milk, soy milk or water. Add fruit and whizz up in a blender. Mango, strawberry and blueberry, blended with water or freshly squeezed orange juice tastes very nice. Drinking 500ml to 1 litre is very filling first thing in the morning.

Homemade gluten-free toasted muesli with fresh & dried fruit. Home-made is so much better than the boring bland shop brough gluten-free cereals.

    Pineapple breakfast cake

Here is a fabulous link for you. I use this site a lot:

  3. Check out the health food section in your supermarket.   There is an increasing amount of gluten free products.
