  1. I know it is carried out during aerobic respiration, but I don't know for sure if it is during fermentation.

    So it's either 'b' or 'c'.

    Since fermentation is another type of respiration though (in this case, anaerobic - without the use of oxygen), I'm assuming glycolysis occurs here too. Especially since the oxygen doesn't even come into play until the mitochondria become involved in cellular respiration.

    So, I'd say your best pick is 'c'.

  3. The answer is both fermentation and aerobic respiration. During cellular respiration, whether fermentation or aerobic respiration, glycolysis is always the first step. This process converts glucose to pyruvate, in the absence of oxygen pyruvate enters the fermentation process, while in the presence of oxygen, pyruvate is converted to Acetly CoA and it then enters the Kreb's cylce.
