Question:

Gmail and Yahoo! Groups -- Not Receiving Back Copies of Messages I Send?

Since switching my Yahoo! Group subscriptions from my Dot Mac account to my Gmail account, I no longer receive back a copy of any emails that I send to any Yahoo! Group.

I care because

1. All of my Yahoo! Groups have occasionally had the problem of failing to distribute messages to group members, and one of the ways that I confirm that a message was actually distributed is by checking to see if I received it myself.

1a. Sometimes I goof and send messages from the wrong account. Again, if the message doesn't come back to me in a reasonable amount of time, I know that I need to resend it ... this time from the correct (subscribed) email account.

2. I archive conversations on many of my groups and my comments are as much a part of the conversation as anyone else's.

Messages are not in Spam, Sent Mail or Trash.

If your solution is to inform Gmail or Yahoo! of the problem, please give me an email address or webpage to do so!

  1. this is a known issue with gmail and other providers have this little feature where they automatically think you don't want a copy again of your own mail. there's a setting to reset in gmail for this. it is not at all a YGroup issue, but a gmail issue and you need to go find that setting.
