they have been here for over a month, i have been cleaning his cage more often, and covering wet spots with more shavings. However they keep coming back and multiplying. they are going after the wet spots from poo, pee, and water that drips from the water bottle. They are out of control, how can i get rid of them?

  1. well i dont really know how to help you but it might help if you clean up after your pet more often and instead of just covering up its pee & p**p you need to scoop it out of the cage and throw it away as for the leaky water bottle get one that dosnt leak

  2. There are several methods of getting rid of fruit flies.  Basically, they are in your house and breeding and are especially attracted to things like animal cages.

    Some great suggestions are here:

  3. Oh I am so sorry about this, The water dripping is a problem the bottles vacuum isn't working properly I would try to fill it up all the way and then turn it over slowly and see if the vacuum works to stop the dripping if not get a new bottle that will not drip.. NUMBER 2, I use about 20 sheets of news paper at the bottom of the cage topped with this GREAT ORDER eliminator cage litter, called critter country, you get it at any pet store, its used for snakes and lizards and you know how much they can stink, anyway this is the BEST stuff for the piggies, so don't forget the news paper lined up at the bottom it will help absorber the urine and the critter country will help with the smell its great combo.  If your piggie misses the shavings, put some in a corner for him to sleep on, but you will be so HAPPY with the new litter there will be no smell.. it lasts for over a week if done right GOOD LUCK!! GNATS will be gone once they get this new set up I think
