Question:

Gnats in my house, how can I get ride of these?

I have gnats flying around in my house, lots of them. I purchased the sticky things that attract them and have collected a lot of them, but they are still flying around.

I have a clean house, I do not leave out fuit, etc. but I do open my windows. They are in my bedroom, in the kitchen, you name it.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on how I can remove these from my house? They go away in the winter and come back in the summer

Please help!

  1. keep your windows and doors shut in the evenings, they are attracted to the warmth

  2. I found that they are attracted to wine. Put a little in a glass and leave it in the rooms where they are. They fly in to take a drink and drop in the glass.

  3. They're breeding in your trash.  Be sure to take out all your garbage every couple of days (especially vegetable and fruit residue), and keep a lid on the can.  They're bad during the summer.

They might also be breeding in your cat litter (if you have one).  Keep that picked out everyday.

  4. Two of the best solutions I've ever tried:

Buy those sticky clear strips that attach to your windows.  They are attracted to the light, and go get stuck forever!  (If you can't find them, you can use good old-fashioned fly paper)

Put out a dish of vinegar (apple cider is good) with some honey and a few drops of dish soap in it.  They are attracted to the vinegar, go for a drink and -voila!  Gone forever!

    Hope this helps.
