Go Gonzola chasing maiden Grade A2 victory in Rgoa Members Trophy Race
Go Gonzola will be chasing his maiden Grade A2 victory in the Rgoa Members Trophy Race at Romford in England on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. A victory will earn him a cash prize of £116 in the end.
Both the speed and stamina will be crucial in the 400 metres race, which is scheduled to start at 21:25 GMT. There are some extremely good runners lined up for action today, thus the competition will be a close one.
However, the best chances of victory appear to be with Go Gonzola, who has performed well in different classes and has the potential to steal the show at Romford today. The bookies realise his talent, thus have given him a general starting price of 7 to 2. The punters might be a touch hesitant over risking money on him, as he has never participated in this class before.
The P. Young’s trainee took part in a few trial runs in April this year to start off his career. His performances in them were pretty much decent, but the real challenge for him was to do well in competitive racing.
Ningbo Jack’s son out of Lemon Star first competed in a Grade A5 event at Romford in order to prove his potential. He was priced 9 to 2 by the bookmakers back then and was up against some fierce competitors.
Despite that, the fawn dog did a reasonable job and finished as runner up in the end. He was unable to make an impression on the race winner, but his performance would have pleased his trainer.
Go Gonzola’s first victory came in June, when he was rated as the favourite to succeed. He looked in control of the proceedings at the start, but had to defend his position in the end, as he managed to prevail by just a short head distance.
Apart from a couple of races, the young dog has always been competitive, which shows that he is a consistent performer. He is carrying the winning momentum right now, as he was victorious in his most recent run, despite not being given the best odds by the bookies. His speed was extremely good and allowed him to take the top spot by a comfortable margin.
A similar run will definitely help the promising runner to give a tough time to his rivals at Romford.
