I need ideas of activities to do with a large group of age 11-14 year olds with the theme being "Go Green." Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. pick up trash, recycle, plant trees. all of that stuff

  2. Abandon all hope and prepare for the worst.

Whoops...I mean, pick up some trash by the highway while the world creates more pollution per day than was created in the 1,000 years previous to the industrial revolution.

    Best of luck...

  3. Tell them that going 'green' won't make the slightest bit of difference and it's all a ruse to brainwash the public.

Then you do an activity that will be of some benefit to someone of that age, like playing in a park, watching a film or just plain old football.

  4. Plant trees....and flowers and what not.....

But first make the kids paint there thumbs green. I think that would be cute! lol Kind of cheesy, but thats how I role! Plus kids ( I think) would love it.

  5. collect as many used plastic grocery bags from home, neighbors and take them to WalMart where they have a plastic recycling bin at the Customer Service and at the exit.

  6. Slip & Slide....Lawn Darts.... Bring them to a LArge Urban inner city area and have them rummage through trash receptacles for valuable aluminimun recyclables...then have them find 3 - 4 homeless people for a footrace, with the winner receiving the childrens soda cans.  Then follow the person to the recycling center to see the fruits of their labors. This will teach hard work (foraging for the cans), charity (donations to the homeless),  Perserverance (Winning a competition & not everyone can be a winner), conservation (recycling you cans) & teach a valuable lesson about what happens when you uncontrollably overindulge too much liquor and can't be a functioning member of society.

  7. Think a child or a family can’t make a difference? Not so. Little things -- like using a colorful cloth bag, or tossing potato peels and eggshells into the compost heap-- can help the environment. And if your child develops good habits now, they’ll endure as he grows.
