Go to knock for one day pilgrimage..dont have car..which city should i stay..galway or westport or other?

Westport  isn't a city but its a pretty nice town to stay in-one of the nicest in the country for tourism! Its also closer to Knock. If you want city though, then go to Galway, also nice!

Or see Castlebar closer again and about the same size as Westport. -Personally I'd say Westport.

If you are flying to knock airport there will be car hire there for you, as with all of the international airports. there could be a bus service form the town to the basicila.

Over all, enjoy your stay in the place!!!

Westport is nearer.

Try looking up local bus company they are bound to have a coach going to Knock. [Bus Eireann]

My mum & aunt go for the day on the normal bus service from Ballina,Co Mayo
