  1. What's your point? They probably have a similar web site for cars, airplanes, boats, etc. If you have to spend that much time deciding, you sshouldn't get one.

  2. If you are stupid, you will die.  That's Darwin watching over you.

Just because you buy a motorcycle doesn't mean you are going to die.  My boss is 50-60 yrs old and he owns 5 motorcycles has been riding since he was 16, and still does today.  If  you go out and buy a liter bike and pop wheelies on the highway weaving across multiple lanes eventually someones gonna gun by and slap you in the face with their car.

Go out and take a MSF or BRC safety course, find a bike that is forgiving and buy it used.  Learn on it and you will find that bikes can be alot of fun without riding like a bat outta h**l.

  3. You know that is really just a question everyone needs to figure out on their own. I don't really feel comfortable telling someone that they should or shouldn't get a road bike. The risks are obvious. I think you need to realize these risks and ask yourself if the enjoyment outweighs the risk. For the seasoned riders out there, they already know what the risk is and accept it. I do think it is important for potential new riders to see this and know what they will be facing out there. None of us likes to see these types of pictures and videos, but for someone trying to decide if biking is right for them it's probably a good idea.

  4. Mate i just spent a few minutes sussing out that site, true accidents do happen and yeah lots of riders die or loose limbs or become vegetables and loose bodie functions it goes on and on

But I have to say I have been riding for almost 40 years on the road on the track and in that time I have lost a lot of mates and friends but there are still a few of us out there enjoying the ride

Why am I still here ? well I have hit the odd car and even high sided a bike at 280k's plus that's around  175 mph it hurt when I landed!!

But Why am I still here and still riding the short answer is I ride to survive I treat every other road user as idiots and stay away from them as much as possible I watch everyone around me and I always try to have an escape route just incase!

I now have the disposition of riding with my 24 year old son who is Evil Kanivle on the road lifting his front wheel on his FZR1 every other time he takes off ! It worries me no end but he has to learn why his nice 2001 R1 is looking like a wreck because its been up the road a few times and my old 95 ZX6R Ninja is still straight. Old Head on new shoulders or is that old head on old shoulders mmmm

The trick is if you want to ride think about the other fools on the road who dont care wether you live or die (even though it could be their mother sister brother father riding) and give them space watch them and keep your space educate everyone as much as you can and always respect yourself when you ride!

Life's too short not to try new adventures or enjoy the adventures you can have by being adventurous!

Dont take any risks take opportunities!

LIVE to RIDE and RIDE to LIVE

Cagers' have no idea about the elements and nature, bikes can be as safe as a car or truck if you do it right!

My choice IS ALWAYS MY BIKE FIRST rain, hail, snow, wind, sleet, ice, fairweather, or shine! Oh yeah I'm 50 plus and still clocking the miles hope you make the right choice I know I have. Good Luck
