Has anyone been on a First Choice, twin resort holiday to Goa?

I am considering their 1 week at Phoenix Park Hotel in Candolim, in the north, combined with Majorda Beach Resort, in the south.

I am a mature female solo traveller, so any info. would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jersey, C.I.

  1. I went there some years ago , I went to calengute most restaraunts are very good but stay away from beach restaraunts !!! hygene not good may have improved ,

can, remember the name of market now but ask any one you must go to that just buzzing and if you do food stalls are good ( punjabi one especialy ) enjoy

  2. You will find Majorda quieter than Candolim but neither attract the 'rave' crowd. I travel in India for at least 3 months a years and always spend a few weeks in south Goa to relax. I stay in small family run guest houses which are friendly and a great way to meet people but pretty basic. I do know of people who have stayed at the Majorda beach resort and liked it.

Contrary to the answer above the shacks on the beach are great places to eat cheap fresh seafood. They are usually family run and they couldn't be friendlier.

Whilst in North Goa I recommend the Saturday night market in Arpora more than the Wednesday flea market at Anjuna which is baking hot and just has quantity rather than quality of things to buy.

In the south a trip to the capital Panjim (Panaji) and Old Goa is well worth it, you can hire a taxi driver for a day for around 700 rupees.

Hope you have a lovely time x
