Goa Storm – Performance Review - 2012
Goa Storm has been causing a lot of problems for his rivals in Greyhound Racing and he has managed to win some close competitions at the highest level of the sport, which will really improve his confidence, heading into the next year.
The young greyhound started off his career in March 2012 and did a couple of trial runs before going into competitive racing. He seemed to have impressive speed, which forced his team to test him in a shorter distance event.
However, the challenge was not an easy one for the black and white dog, as he was up against some solid runners in a Grade OR competition. He had to cover an overall distance of 305 metres back then, which meant that he needed to be aggressive from the start
until the end.
Although, there was a lot of pressure on Goa Storm, he was still given the highest odds for a victory by the bookies. There were high expectations from him, but he failed to deliver in the end and had to settle for the runner up position.
He had entered the contest from trap number three and did not start off strongly, which resulted in his failure. His overall performance was not bad though and his team would have been satisfied.
Despite failing to meet the expectations of the bookmakers, the C. Allsopp’s trainee was once again rated as the favourite to succeed in his very next Grade OR outing. This time though, he had to cover an overall distance of 480 metres, which tested both
his speed and stamina.
Once again, Goa Storm was unable to deliver a top quality result and finished third that time around. He then went back for a solo run in order to regain his form and returned back with several decent performances at the highest level.
Express Ego’s son out of Murlens Madrid struggled to deliver such results with consistency, but he did trouble his opponents, when he was on song. He has improved a lot with the passage of time and managed to win against some top class performers, which
means that he has the ability to take on the best in the business.
