Goa resumed play on the final day with SK Kamat and RS Belekar after they ended Monday by posting 11 runs without any loss in their second innings.
However, it was not too long before this pair was separated by Ahmed, who dismissed Kamat after the batsman had amassed 11 runs off 53 deliveries.
RS Belekar and AS Desai then avoided a batting collapse, as they took the score to 106 runs. It was imperative for the fielding side to bring an end to this partnership before letting things slip out of their hands.
Finally, Syed Mohammad bowled a superb delivery, hitting timber and sending Belekar back. The batsman had bolstered a phenomenal knock of 57 runs before finding his way off the field.
The third-wicket partnership between AS Desai and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Hartman-Joseph-c85857 Pinto was equally important, as the batting side maintained its edge over Assam.
The batting duo, hammering away the bowers, led their side to 150 runs before this partnership faltered on the wicket of Desai, who was caught by Ahmed off Syed Mohammad after bolstering a knock of 40 runs.
Pinto, who was punishing the bowlers from his end, was then joined by wicketkeeper/batsman S Bisla.
This partnership, however, was short-lived as the latter could score only seven runs before hitting the showers, leaving his side with 165 runs on the board.

This was a testing time for Assam, who were getting pulverised by the batsmen without an end in sight.
The batting pair stayed unbeaten till the end of the match with Pinto on 62 and Shukla on 52, as Goa piled 241 runs on the board.
From Assam, J Syed Mohammad was the ace performer in this innings with three wickets to his name.
