  1. As far as the heat molding, any skate CAN be heated up and put on but for the most part only the newer, higher end skates have "heat moldable" materials in them- the rest you will just be softening up the plastics and other boot materials. Keeping that in mind, a thin pair of dri-fit socks may help if you normally skate in a cotton sock.  Im not sure if Play It Again has a skate oven but if they did, im sure theyd bake them ( for a fee of course)

  2. depends on the PIAS store - some might have that skate oven and others don't. I would have more confidence having that done at the rink. what model did you get? I have a pair of CCM 852 Custom Tacks for goalie. Graf makes an amazing goalie skate but I couldn't justify $400 for them - and the CCM's were on sale for $200 when I got this pair.

  3. If you bought the skates there, they might. If not they might charge you, but they would do it. That is, if they have a skate oven. If not, go to a regualr pro shop and have them do it. Might cost you a little, but it shouldn't be more then 10 bucks.

If the skates with the padding worked, by all means keep them.
