Goalies, I need some help?

Question

I can get Rbk equipment at wholesale prices from a coach. I'm in need of new pads. My question, is the Rbk 8k pad ALOT better than the 6k, or would getting the 6k for less be a smart move?

8k or 6k? And a little bit on WHY, would be nice also.

DC FURY : please give me your insight on the Simmons 993 a friend of mine is looking to sell me his but I think 36+2 might be a bit big on me (I've been wearing 34's for years)

Well depending on the age group that you are in if you are still only like 14 or 16 I would get the 6k because they are cheeper and you may grow out of them quicker so you don't want to waste the money but if you ar elike 19 or somthing and stoped growing then by all meens get the 8k.

if you are playing at a high level like college, or travel hockey go with the 8k's. as for the playing for house league or low division travel go with the 6k's. The only difference is in the weight which isn't that much its about 1-3 pounds difference

Go with the 8k unless there's a three hundred dollar difference in which case go with the 6k's.  I haven't tried either pad personally, but from what i hear the knee lock system on the 8k's are spectacular.  The 6k's are apparently fine, but the 8k's are great.  But again this is only from what I've heard not from experience.  I personally would recommend Don Simmons pads.  I have the 994's and I absolutely love them.  You might check them out just go to www.donsimmons.com in my view they're pro level pads for junior level prices.

Umm they are nicer, but if the price difference isnt that crazy? If you're spending that much on the 6k, might as well get the 8k. Its not like they wont get the use out of them.
