Goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Enyeama-c36182 in doubt after joining LOSC Lille – Ligue 1 news
Vincent Enyeama joined LOSC Lille early in the 2011 summer transfer window from Hapoel Tel Aviv FC on a three-year contract. However, he has not seen past the bench so far at Nord-based club. In the wake of recent developments, the 29-year-old would be regretting
his decision of joining the defending champions, Les Dogues.
Enyeama was a real leader at his former Israeli club. The Nigeria international’s dynamic goalkeeping helped the Red Demons win the Israeli Premier league in the 2009/10 season.
The former Bnei Yehuda goalkeeper’s arrival at Stade Lille-Metropole created a competition for the custodian position with Mickael Landreau. Though Vincent Enyeama is yet to be tested by Coach Rudi Garcia, the Kaduna State native is desperate to show his
skills on the French soil.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mickaël-Landreau-c25513 has appeared in all seven games of the 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championelle and has conceded 9 goals already and has not managed to keep a clean sheet.
The Nigerian is renowned spot kick specialist and has also converted a few during his career. In August 2010, Enyeama scored his first goal through a penalty for the Tel Aviv-based club to qualify for the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League.
The Kaduna-born attracted several suitors in the Israeli Premier League following his decision to depart from Bloomfield Stadium, and eventually settled down with Lille in 2011.
Though Enyeama has not spoken about his peripheral role at LOSC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigeria-c2970 Premier League technical staff member, Imama Amapakabo, sees his move to Lille as a bad choice. In an interview to Super Sport, he was quoted saying, “The move to Lille is a bad career
move for Vincent.”
Amapakabo further added, “For a goalie of his class to go to a club that already has an established number one (is surprising). Well, in Nigeria, it doesn’t matter if he plays regularly or not, he will be called to be first choice [in the national team].”
The Nigerian international is patient about his role at Stade Lille-Metropole and will be hoping to get a chance in the domestic stage at least if not in the UEFA Champions League.
