Question:

Goats infant formula - anyone know anything?

My Daughter is 3 months old and allergic to just about everything she has ever drank, including Neocate which is the most non allergenic milk available. I wondered whether Goats milk is an option? I believe that it comes in powder form like regular formula and is the closest thing to breast milk?

Anyone got any input?

  1. i tried it on timothy about a week ago and i couldnt even get him to take it, he flat out refused it. its powerded form and looks excatly like formula except for the fact that it stinks. hope you have better luck with it

  2. I used goat's milk for all three of my kids as they could not tolerate cow's milk or breast milk if I had ingested any dairy products. For a time I gave up dairy while I was nursing, but when they were old enough to use a cup they still couldn't tolerate cow's milk. There is an enzyme in cow's milk that is difficult for some and it's not in goat's milk. I bought whole goat's milk in the dairy section as that is what our pediatrician recommended. Oh and by the way, as they got older they were able to eat normal dairy products. Good luck!

  3. While I have no idea if your daughter would be allergic to a formula from goats milk, I do have a source.  www.westons.com

It is called Nanny Care Goat milk nutrition.

Alternatively, go to the Dairy Goat Co-Operative of New Zealand's website  (www.dgc.co.nz) and they will give you a phone number  to the Mexican distributor.

It is probably cheaper from Mexico, but you can't order it online.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works.
