Ready At Dawn drops a huge hint towards the next generation of consoles as it begins hiring for a new “AAA IP”. Nice way to get everyone’s attention.
Sony and Microsoft may have stated that they will not be revealing their next generation consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 respectively, at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, yet both have confirmed that the next models of consoles are in
development.
Plenty of rumours have been doing the rounds on the World Wide Web yet one thing that one can rely on when going through all the speculation is the job advertisements at various developers.
One such studio that is advertising for positions to work on next generation consoles is Ready At Dawn. Many will know them as the studio that worked on the God of War games on the PlayStation Portable.
Their advertisement read, “Are you ready to work on an exciting new AAA IP for the home console?”
Deep down we answered yes, but sadly do not have the technical know-how or the background to follow through on that.
The same advertisement has been rephrased since it was on the site earlier and now reads, “Are you ready to work on an exciting new AAA IP for a Next-Generation home console game system? Ready at Dawn in working on a 3rd Person Action Adventure
and is looking for talented, motivated and self-directed developers to join our team.”
Details apart from those mentioned in the advert are scare at the moment and has led to a fair deal of speculation.
The questions that come to mind vary from whether the game will be a PlayStation exclusive or has the studio adopted a multiplatform model. The latter seems unlikely as Ready At Dawn develops exclusively for Sony, but that could change in the future.
Also there are questions as to whether or not the game in question could be God of War 4, though again that seems unlikely since Sony Santa Monica studios is responsible for the development of the series.
However, one thing that the gaming community can be certain of is the fact that the next generation of consoles is definitely on its way and that Ready At Dawn is looking to cater to the home console market when that time comes.
