Godolphin optimistic about Farhh’s chances in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown
Since, Godolphin’s Farhh delivered an exceptional performance in the Group 1 150th Anniversary of Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, his connections have realized that he can perform equally well in the races to come.
This was one of the main reasons he has been supplemented into the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.
The event will be held on 7th July, 2012, where he will compete over a distance of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 7 yards. A little bit of rain would make the conditions more favourable for Saeed Bin Suroor’s charge.
At the Royal meet, the four-year-old briskly covered the 1 mile and 2 furlong track, and missed the victory narrowly by 2 ¾ lengths to winner, So You Think, where the ground was labelled good.
Saeed Bin Suroor posted on www.godolphin.com and said:
"Farhh came out his latest run sound and has looked well since Royal Ascot. He is taking on some very good horses again but he showed in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes that he is an improving horse and that a mile and a quarter suits him well. Softer
ground is the key for him and I hope that there is plenty of rain before the weekend."
The son of Pivotal, out of mare Gonbarda, already has a hat-trick to his name, which shows that he has all the essential skills needed to get to the top.
Godolphin will also be represented by Dubai World Cup winner, Monterosso, and City Style, both of who are under the wing of trainer, Mahmood Al Zarooni.
Monterosso, son of Dubawi, foaled by mare Porto Roca, will be racing for the first since his victory in the world’s richest race, which was hosted at Meydan in March, 2012.
City Style, the six-year-old gelding also tried his luck at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 150th Anniversary of Prince of Wales's Stakes, but he finished sixth.
The most recent performance of the son of City Zip, out of mare Brattothecore, should not overshadow his previous performances, since he delivered terrific performances previously.
At the Meydan in February 2012, the chestnut gelding triumphed in the Al Naboodah Construction Group over 1 mile and 1 furlong.
