Godolphin’s Helmet to trump competition in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot
It looks like Godolphin’s, Helmet, has a chance for redemption in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at the Royal Ascot meet on 19th June, 2012.

After a rough season and some setbacks, it is finally time for the chestnut colt to come out on top and recover from the short-comings.
Mahmood Al Zarooni’s trainee will battle for glory over the 1 mile course, and take on ten other competitors on a surface that has been labelled good to soft.
Helmet has not secured a placed finish this season, but here’s why he might win this race.
First of all, the four-year-old has experience over a variety of tracks, and that will work in his favour. Along with this, he has triumphed six times in thirteen career starts.
The son of Exceed And Excel, out of mare Accessories, demonstrated brilliant performances last season, and the fact that he has claimed three victories in the Group 1 category speaks for itself.
On 9th April, 2011, the young race excelled in the Group 1 Inglis Sires Produce Stakes at Randwick, where he defeated the Kris Lees trained, Uate, by half-length, over the seven furlong course.
On the same track, he bagged another Group 1 victory over, Pane In The Glass, by a 1 length margin in the Moet & Chandon Champagne Stakes that covered a distance of 1 mile on 23rd April, 2011.
The Darley bred runner has all the capability in the world in him, but he seemed to have lost his fervour somewhere in the middle.

His most recent performance took place at Meydan on 31st March, 2012, where he finished in twelfth place in a line-up of fourteen runners over the 1 mile and 1 ½ furlong UAE Derby Sponsored By The Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah
Group.
Helmet will have to work extra hard on the track today, considering the level of competition, as he will be competing against runners like Excelebration and the Sir Henry Cecil trained Frankel.

It is definitely a challenge, this time it’s Helmet’s turn to emerge victorious and Frankel can follow him home.
